As many of you know we have a big family and with six kids ranging in age from 14 down to 4, it’s not always easy for us to watch a family movie that all of the family members will enjoy. Thankfully, there are a few movies that bring us all together and leave us all feeling a little more like one big happy family when they are over—like The Odd Life of Timothy Green! If you’re unfamiliar with The Odd Life of Timothy Green, I can’t wait to introduce you to this heartwarming movie that was an instant hit at our house.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green stars Jennifer Garner (Cindy) and Joel Edgerton (Jim) as the Green’s, a happily married couple with everything but a child to share their love. After failed attempts at trying to conceive, Cindy and Jim write down all of the things they wish for in a child, put their wishes in a box and bury it in the back yard. That very same night a young boy, covered in dirt, with leaves seeming to sprout from his legs shows up at the Green’s door calling himself Timothy and thus begins the story of Cindy, Jim and Timothy as a family. Cindy and Jim, their small town of Stanleyville and nearly everyone else who comes in contact with Timothy is shown the power and beauty in being different.
Between the positive message, which to our family was “being different can sometimes be the best thing ever” (as one of my children put it) and the fact that The Odd Life of Timothy Green is one of the first movies in a long time that our entire family could watch together and enjoy, I have to give it 2 thumbs up! I love that my children were able to easily understand the underlying message of the movie and that it served as an opportunity for them to learn to be more tolerant (a message I try to drive home constantly) . If you’re looking for a family-friendly movie with a good positive message, great characters and a fun story—you should definitely check out The Odd Life of Timothy Green, I think you’ll love it! Am I the only one who can’t believe that it’s November already? I mean serious, where did this year go?
Well, with Thanksgiving sneaking up on us with a quickness, it’s time to start thinking about the holidays and that means thinking about gifts—lots and lots of gifts. What’s every child’s favorite day of the year? Aside from Christmas of course. Their birthday!
With four kiddos it’s kind of hard to spoil all of them all of the time (even though I always want to) so I always try to make their birthday’s as special as possible—that is my job as their mother after all. A couple of weeks ago my Lil’ Diva celebrated her 4th birthday and as always, I tried to make sure it was as special and as amazing as possible and while Diva was thrilled with every single part of her special day, there was one thing that made her eyes light up like only the most special gifts can…her birthday cookie bouquet from Shari’s Berries.
If you’ve never heard of Shari’s Berries, then you have no idea what you’ve been missing. In addition to gorgeous cookie bouquet's, birthday and other special occasion cake pops, they also have the prettiest (and I’m sure based on the cookies) the tastiest chocolate covered strawberries I’ve ever seen…seriously, they’re pretty and look they look delicious! Of course, Shari’s Berries doesn’t just stop with cookies and strawberries, they also have a huge assortment of gift baskets and with the holidays right around the corner, you’re definitely going to want to check out their baskets assortment, I promise you’ll find something perfect for everyone on your holiday list!
We recently had the opportunity to do a review for Shari’s Berries and since Lil Diva’s birthday happened to come at the same time, it seemed like the obvious choice to choose an item for her birthday so I ordered her the Happy Birthday Princess Cookie Bouquet. The day the cookie bouquet was scheduled to arrive Lil Diva and I spent the majority of the day running errands so when we came home, Diva had a big surprise waiting for her. My biggest fear with ordering something as fragile as a cookie bouquet was that it wouldn’t all be in one piece when it arrived, but at the same time, I also thought it was a great way to test the company’s ability to get their products to their customers without damage. I’m very happy to report that Lil Diva’s cookie bouquet came wrapped (several times) in bubble wrap and completely intact, without a single cookie out of place…they definitely get an A in shipping! As soon as Lil Diva saw her cookie bouquet her eyes lit up and she immediately wanted to “test” the cookies. Far be it for me to deny a princess on her birthday so I kinda gave in and the rest is history…like literally, all of the cookies were gone before the weekend was over, I’m pretty sure that means that Lil Diva liked Shari’s Berries and this Mommy does too!

Y’all didn’t think we were finished showing you the hottest gift ideas for 2011 did you? Good, cause we still have a ton of great products to come!
If there’s one gift I can always count on to bring ooh’s and aah’s on Christmas morning it’s anything personalized! With Christmas right around the corner (8 weeks to be exact) I am feverishly compiling my list of must-haves for the family! There are so many things to consider, but one thing I know for sure is that I will be shopping online a lot this Christmas. I have found so many awesome places to shop online and one of my favorites is Manhattan Toy!

We received a Baby Stella and an Automoblox mini set for our review. First off I must say that the quality of these toys is top notch…I was beyond impressed with the toys straight away. Baby Stella reminds me of a doll I used to have when was little, but much more modern and so much more well made. Stella is so cuddly and soft that any little girl would be just fall in love with her instantly. I also love that her paci is magnetized, and don’t even get me started on her cute little toes (that look so much like a babies it’s unreal). The moment my Lil Diva saw Baby Stella she was instantly in love!
We also received an Automoblox mini set from Manhattan Toy. Lil Man loves cars, as a matter of fact, he has already requested that we tell Santa to bring lots of cars and trucks. As I mentioned in a post yesterday my oldest daughters love to play school, they also love to draw and be creative every chance they get. As a mother I feel its my job to nurture that creativity and I appreciate companies that make my job that much easier!
EXPO is a company that I have been faithful user of for a long time; not only do I love their products and appreciate their approach to creativity their products, in my opinion, are superior to their competitors. I’ve noticed that with other dry erase markers the smell is really very strong and being as sensitive as I am to smell this usually causes a major headache for me, but EXPO low odor markers do definitely live up to their low odor claim. My oldest daughters use their dry erase boards almost daily from practicing math problems to drawing masterpieces, it’s a great way for them to be creative and learn and it cuts down tremendously on the amount of paper in our house.

Remember a couple of weeks ago when I wrote a post about an upcoming review that was going to solve my organizational issues with the kids “stuff”? Well it seems that the FedEx man is my own personal Santa (and I love him for it) because last week he dropped off what can only be described as the answer to my prayers. Alright so maybe I’m being a little dramatic, but in my house anytime I can see my floor through all the toys I consider a minor miracle has taken place.
A few weeks ago I was approached to do a review for CSNBaby.com. I have worked with CSN in the past and enjoyed the experience so I was more than happy to do another review for them. In case you’re not familiar with the CSN line of online stores let me tell you a little about them. CSN is an online retailer with over 200 unique stores to their credit; from baby furniture to office accessories if you need it chances are very good that one of the many CSN stores has it.
I was sent the Little Tikes Giant Toy Chest to review. Aside from this item being a Godsend for all the clutter in my family room, I actually chose it because I thought it would be a great item to review for the holidays and a nice change from all of the toys! One of the things that has been driving me crazy since we moved to our current house is the lack of room for our kids to play. I’m used to having a play room for them to stash all of their toys in and unfortunately there is no play room here. Given the limited amount of space I have to work with I’ve had to get pretty creative with the way I organize, unfortunately that meant my children's toys sitting in a wagon and a not so kid-friendly storage bin. Of course I have looked at toy boxes in the past but truth-be-told they were either too small or way too expensive for me. The thing I like most about the Little Tikes Giant toy chest is that is is HUGE, it’s overall dimensions are: 21.75" H x 23.25" W x 39" D, so it is more than big enough to hold all my kiddos toys and then some. It’s also quite cute, I hope you can see the detail from the pictures, it really is very charming. There is one thing I dislike and that is the fact that the lid is not attached (though many toy chests of this size are similar in that manner) it makes it a bit difficult for my little ones to open by themselves (which could actually be a good thing).

As my oldest daughter gets older I am constantly looking for new and exciting products for her, the task is not always easy, but that makes finding something special even more exciting.

We received the Fun Flower Media Case to review and let me tell you it is just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. My daughter, like most kids her age, has several media devices that require protection; her MP3 player is one of them and the Fun Flower Media Case was perfect for doing just that. One of my favorite features of the media case is the side grommet for easy access to your ear buds. I also love that it has a handle strap making it a breeze to attach to my daughter’s overnight bag. Overall I loved the design and durability of the media case and my daughter loved the very cute, very girly pattern…a total win…win!

One of the first things I noticed about the ValueRays Pink Warm Mouse III was how much bigger it is than my normal mouse, that is due to the Pink Warm Mouse’s large ergonomic design. I have to admit that it did take some getting used to before I could use the Pink Warm Mouse comfortably. My hands are pretty small, definitely smaller than the average woman’s hands, so I never have become completely comfortable using the mouse, for me it is a bit awkward and hard to maneuver. I did however, love the warmth that radiated from the mouse, not only did it keep my hands warm it made using the mouse seem easier for me.
