If you’re familiar with SOL REPUBLIC, then you already know how awesome they are (they really are pretty kickass) and if you haven’t had the pleasure of trying out one of the many SOL REPUBLIC products, then I can’t wait to tell you why you have to check them out!
About SOL REPUBLIC
Founded in 2011, SOL REPUBLIC is a global consumer electronics company dedicated to enhancing people’s lives through better-sounding headphones and accessories. We are music fanatics who develop products from the ground up to make headphones that look, sound and feel unlike anything else in the market.
I’m just going to go ahead and vouch for the fact that their headphones and accessories, are definitely some of (if not the) best I’ve used. We recently had the chance to check out what I like to call, my little secret music weapon, but what’s more commonly referred to as DECK. “Deck is the only wireless speaker featuring 360° Full Sound, Super-Power Wireless Range and Heist Mode™, allowing up to 5 friends to pair at the same time and take turns controlling the music.” To say that DECK is cool, is probably the biggest understatement in history, because it’s freakin’ awesome times 100, but before I let you judge all of that for yourself, let me tell you a little more about this small, but crazy powerful speaker that will turn your love of music, into an experience you won’t soon forget!
Features of DECK
360° Full Sound: Seriously, even with the volume turned down, your music fills the room (and with it turned up, it fills the whole house), DECK is the perfect accessory for every outdoor BBQ and party you’ll ever need/want to have thanks to Outdoor Boost, as a matter of fact, you’ll look for reasons to have a BBQ just so you can show this off to your friends/family…bet!
Super Power Wireless: Up to 3x the standard wireless range, so you can connect your device from further away than before, this is especially perfect for lazy teenagers.
Speakerphone: DECK allows you to make all of your calls hands-free by moonlighting as the coolest speakerphone ever!
NFC/Bluetooth Pairing: Connect your devices with ease via NFC or Bluetooth.
Battery Life: Up to 10 hours of play time on a single charge means no electric
Stereo-Out: Connect DECK to any sound system (or daisy chain DECKS together for an unparalleled wall of sound) using the Stereo-Out jack. You can even connect old schools phones and music players with the Stereo-In jack so that you can use DECK no matter how not smart your phone is…you can even connect DECK to your car stereo…now that my friends is pretty stinkin’ cool!
Heist Mode: Undoubtedly the coolest feature of DECK! Up to 5 people can can pair (or connect) their devices to DECK at once and take turns controlling the music and playing DJ!
I definitely believe that seeing is believing so I made a little video of DECK in action…check it out!
Disclosure: I received DECK by SOL REPUBLIC to review…all opinions are 100% my own and were not influenced by any outside source! Honestly, I would have ended up buying DECK for myself anyway and told y’all all about it, because it seriously is just that damn cool!

Many artists go to places in their communities to share art because they believe it is part of their responsibility to their art. Every artist who has been endowed with a gift is obligated to share what they have with others. It is an active way to thank the universe for all artistic blessings.
There is something else magical that happens, too, when artists have these kind of exchanges with youth and those who are sick and shut in. Artists learn more about themselves than they knew before they connected with the people they serve. It is true that a painter can teach a young person how to use different strokes to create beautiful paintings, or singers can show them how to properly use the diaphragm to extend their breathing. These things are mechanical and can be learned through any experience designed for instruction.
An artist learns about the person he is, though, when he practices the art of giving. The degree of generosity required to engage these kind of exchanges helps a person to know what kind of giver he is, what his boundaries are in the presence of other people and where his interpersonal weaknesses lie. In spite of the vast amount of knowledge an artist may have in his subject area, this kind of exchange also helps an artist learn what he does not know.
Invariably, there will be some random question, approach or circumstance he has never encountered before. He will be called on to deliver a solution, and if not a solution, then a workable approach to one. The best gift of any of these exchanges comes when the artists as mentor and the people in his charge discover the solutions together.
The generosity of many artists has often enabled community exchanges to happen with little or no funding. They give out of a genuine desire to extend art to others. The cycle is continuous. What an artist gives to others extends to the world.

It’s no secret to anyone who knows me that I live in my house slippers…honestly, I have even worn them to the store…yes, I’m so that woman! If you ask me, there aren’t too many things that make you feel as warm and toasty as a nice, soft, comfy pair of slippers. Of course, all slippers are not made the same and as I found out recently, if you want true comfort and even pain relief benefits (yes, pain relief with a slipper) then you should be wearing a pair of Orthaheel slippers!
Invented by leading Australian podiatrist, Phillip Vasyli, Orthaheel indoor-outdoor slippers feature built-in orthotic technology, providing aching feet with arch support, breathability and pain relief in feet/knees/legs/lower back. The construction also helps realign feet to their neutral, natural position, easing joint paint. All Orthaheel slippers have received the APMA seal of acceptance and are recommended by leading health guru, Dr. Andrew Weil.
As someone who deals with chronic back pain, I was instantly intrigued by the orthopedic benefits of the Orthaheel slippers, I received the Gemma mule slippers (in the pink hearts design) recently as part of a campaign I’m working on and I couldn't wait to get them on my feet and see first hand how comfortable they really were. As soon as they arrived I opened the box, tore off my old slippers and put the Orthaheel slippers on and then went to work doing the usually stay-at-home-mommy thing, you know, cleaning, cooking, laundry, the whole shebang. Instantly I noticed how soft and comfortable the Gemma slippers were and hours later I realized that my feet seemed to hurt a whole lot less than they normally did with my old slippers. Being the doubting Thomas that I always am, I decided to give the slippers a few more days before I began singing their praises from the rooftops….so, fast forward one week later and I’m kind of loving these slippers.
As I mentioned before, I do wear my slippers all the time, honestly, I dislike having to take them off and put on real shoes, so I have been on cloud 9 getting everything ready for the holidays while wearing my slippers; from decorating the Christmas tree with the family and wrapping too many presents to count, to painting homemade Christmas Countdown signs to give as gifts for Christmas, my Orthaheel slippers haven’t let me down yet! I’ve honestly never been one to spend much on my slippers and the nearly $60 price tag for the Gemma slippers is a little more than I’ve ever paid for a pair of slipper, BUT they are worth every penny! If you’re looking for a pair of super comfy, slipper that are the best, most comfortable that I’ve ever had the pleasure of slipping on to my feet, then I definitely suggest Orthaheel!
You can purchase the Gemma mule slippers from Orthaheel online at the Orthaheel website!
Disclosure: I received a pair of Gemma mule slippers from Orthaheel to review as part of the Orthaheel campaign…all opinions are 100% my own!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year….
Yeah, I know, I know, but I love Christmas. I swear nothing makes me happier on a cold December night than snuggling up on the couch with all of my kiddos (and hubby), with a cup of hot chocolate (extra marshmallows please) and a good Christmas movie. Since I know that there are many of you who enjoy that simple act of watching holiday movies with your little ones as much as I do, I thought I’d share a couple of cute new Christmas movies that I just had the opportunity to check out so maybe you can add them to your holiday movie list as well!
We recently had the chance to review two new holiday movies from Cinedigm; “The Secret World of Santa Claus: Elves in Toyland” and “The Secret World of Santa Claus: A Present for Santa”, both with an SRP of $14.95 available from Cinedigm.
About “The Secret World of Santa Claus: Elves in Toyland” and The Secret World of Santa Claus: A Present for Santa”:
Kids and families will count down to Christmas with the DVD debut of the beloved international sensation, The Secret World of Santa Claus! The two special two-disc sets each feature a dozen episodes of the timeless animated series. In “The Secret World of Santa Claus: Elves in Toyland,” Santa, his reindeer and trusty elves sleigh into a land full of enchantment. But when they arrive, they find the meddlesome Gruzzlebeard has cast a wicked spell on the toys, making them come to life. With Christmas fast approaching, Santa and his elves must undo the maleficent magic before it’s too late…! And in “The Secret World of Santa Claus: A Present for Santa,” children work with Santa’s elves to make him a gift so he won’t be the only person on the planet who never receives presents on Christmas. While they’re hard at work, the dastardly Gruzzlebeard unleashes hungry termites that nearly eat Santa’s house, along with his trademark suit with special powers! Santa is very distressed, but when he awakens to a big present outside, courtesy of the children, he discovers all hope is not lost.
My children, especially Lil Diva and Lil Man, love Christmas movies and these two were no exceptions. My kiddos have watched both movies several times now and each time I find them glued to the television (not a small feat, believe you me) so I’mpretty sure that means they really enjoy them!
You can pick up both of these movies wherever Cinedigm movies are sold!

Having a houseful of girls means that I’ve seen (and played with) my fair share of dolls and I have to admit, I get almost as excited when a new doll arrives as my Lil Diva does…I’m just a big kid at heart I suppose. Lately my Diva is all about Winx Club and their fabulously fashionable line of dolls that go along with their hit show and they are a favorite around here.
We were lucky enough to receive one of the newest dolls from the Winx Club’s newest transformation, Sirenix, for our Holiday Gift Guide. We received the Musa doll and if you know anything about Winx Club or the adorable dolls, then you know how exciting they can be to open for your lil one. Lil Diva is definitely in the doll stage and she spends most of her days playing with her dolls quietly in her room (yes, I realize how lucky I am that she does this LOL) and the Winx Club dolls have become some of her favorites.
About Winx Club Musa Sirenix Doll:
The Winx Club's latest magical transformation, Sirenix, is making a splash! Whether on land or under the sea, these girls are always riding the wave of fashion. With cold water activated color change hair, these dolls have the latest hair trend! Six dolls to collect.
If you have a little girl on your holiday list who loves Winx Club, then you’ll definitely have to check out the latest line of dolls, there are six dolls in the Sirenix line to collect, but I have to say, I’m kind of partial to Musa…she’s adorable!
Make sure you check out all of the awesome gift ideas in Misadventures in Baby Raising’s Holiday Gift Guide 2013!
