Hey all you moms and dads out there—are you ready for back-to-school? If the answer was a big, fat NO don’t worry, we’ve got all of the latest back-to-school styles, supplies and tips to help you get your little one back to school with ease…welcome to our 3rd annual Back-to-School Blowout!!!
If there’s one thing that all of my children are super picky about for back-to-school, it’s their shoes. As a general rule, my kids tend to shy away from starting an argument with mom, but when it comes to their shoes, they all hold their ground…especially Sporty Spice.
If you read my blog often, or if we’re friends on Facebook, you may remember me talking about how Sporty Spice is a completely awesome runner (can you say no less than Top 10 in every race, with adults, she’s ever ran in?), she’s seriously one of the most athlete people I know. Sporty Spice is definitely one of those children who are always on the go; if she’s not running, swimming or playing basketball, she’s probably outside giving the younger kids in our neighborhood a softball lesson. Given the fact that SS is so athletic, I knew that she would be the perfect person to help me with a review from one of my kids’ favorite brands…Heelys!
My oldest girls have been fans of Heelys for a while now and I have to admit, they’re really cute and lots of fun for the kids. Last month Heelys announced the addition of three new lines to the Heelys family—a first in company history—an athletic shoe, a shoe made just for girls and a street shoe with improved heels.
• The first new line features athletic shoes that are substantially lighter than traditional Heelys, making them ideal for students who play sports or have active lifestyles.
• The shoes in the second line look more like street shoes than any of the previous Heelys. They have low profile "skate outsoles" that make skating easier.
• The third new footwear line, called "Lifestyles," was designed especially for females. It includes more fashion-forward colors and styles. Heelys has never designed a line just for girls/women.
We recently had the chance to check out a pair of shoes from Heelys' Fall/Winter collection and I knew just the child to help me do the review…Sporty Spice! In addition to being a completely awesome athlete, SS is also a wannabe fashionista, if she’s not starting the next big trend in her school, then she’s making absolutely certain that her outfits are unique, fun, funky and complete her. Since SS has a style all her own, I thought it would be fun for her to pick out her favorite pair of Heelys from the Fall/Winter collection, that thought was short lived however, when it took her nearly an hour to finally decide on her “favorite” pair. SS chose the Comet style in black from Heelys Classic Line and instantly fell in love with them—seriously, I can’t get her to take them off.
Features of Heelys Comet:
*Molded Heelys logo on quarter panel
*Patent leather accent panel on heel
*Foil transfer star design and molded Heelys logo on quarter panel
*FATS low profile wheel with ABEC 1 bearings
When SS received the package containing her Heelys, she could barely contain herself and when she finally got them out of the box and onto her feet she was out the door to try them out in the driveway—a couple of spills (which were complete user error) and a few near misses later, SS was whizzing around the driveway like a pro.
While SS was more concerned about how well the Heelys performed and how “cute” they looked on her feet, I was concerned about safety and how well the shoes were made…turns out I had very little cause for concern. Though the soles of the Heelys SS received are a little thicker than most athletic shoes, something that worried me a little with SS being so active, she seems to walk (and roll) in them with ease…a definite plus in my book. Since safety is a major issue with me, especially with SS being a runner, I always insist that she wear her helmet and safety pads (though in the video below she wasn’t wearing them since we were inside),and so far so good. SS thought it would be fun to make a little video demonstrating how to insert the wheels in Heelys and she even shows off a few of her moves…enjoy!
I must admit, I love the fact that Heelys can be worn with and without the wheel and the ease with which they can be inserted and taken out, definitely makes them that much more appealing to not only me, but SS as well. If you’re kiddo is a fan of Heelys, then make sure you check out their new Fall/Winter lines they’re available now so make sure you get them while they’re hot…they’ll definitely thank you big time!
Want to know what’s going on with the Heelys brand year round? Make sure you become a Heelys Fan on Facebook and Follow Heelys on Twitter and you can even check out the greatest tricks and the latest styles on Heelys YouTube Channel!
Buy It!
You can pick up the Heelys Comet style for $59.99 and are available in sizes Youth (12C-6) and Adult (7-9).

I can’t believe it’s August already, I mean, it seems like July 4th was just a few days ago—guess time does fly when you’re having fun!
If you’re like me, you’re probably counting down the days until your child(ren) go back to school and while I always look forward to the first day back from summer break, there are so many things that are changing for me this fall, making the impending change in seasons bittersweet for me.
While my husband will be bugging the piss outta me this fall with his classes, which is stressful enough times ten all by itself, I’ll also have children in all three school buildings this year…that’s a big adjustment! Our oldest, my step-son L, will be a Freshman in high school this year (this boy was 8 when my husband and I got together), two of my girls, Drama Teen and Sporty Spice, will be in the middle school, and my Lil Man,and I’m not even sure I can type this without crying, will be going to Kindergarten…I’m going to need a LOT of tissues for that one. As for me, well, I’m taking a much needed break from my classes this semester (I haven’t had one of those in a long, long time) and hopefully spending lots of one-on-one time with my darling Lil Diva.
So while I look forward to enjoying the gorgeous Fall weather and scenery that's on the horizon (it’s seriously beautiful in Southern Ohio in the Fall) , I don’t look forward letting go of my only boy and sending him out into a world where he’ll eventually realize that it’s not so cool to be a Momma’s Boy (God please let him believe this for as long as possible, preferably until after college).
Since this post is in serious need of a little sunshine, there is something that’s super awesome about the impending back-to-school hoopla—Misadventures in Baby Raising’s 3rd annual Back-to-School Blowout!

As both a student and a blogger I spend a lot of time on my computer, unfortunately my old desk wasn’t nearly big enough for me to get any real work done so I ended up spending hours sitting at the dining room table every day—not a good time. I needed a computer desk that was functional and stylish without being overly expensive and thanks to one of my favorite online stores, Hayneedle, I found a computer desk that has everything I needed and then some!
Hayneedle has been one of my favorite places to shop for some time now, not only do they have an incredible selection of home furnishings, they also have products that can stand the test of time and that is a HUGE plus when you’re a busy mom on a budget like I am. When I found out that I would be doing a review for Hayneedle I was extremely excited, I really do love their stuff, and I knew exactly what I wanted to review—a computer desk. Thankfully, Hayneedle has a huge selection of computer desks, there is truly something for every budget and every need.
In the past I’ve chosen my home office furniture based on how much space I had to work with within my computer room and in the past that space has been extremely limited. When we moved into our house last March we gained so much more room therefore I had more room to work with when choosing a new computer desk. I looked at so many gorgeous desks before finding one that fit my needs perfectly, the Bush Wheaton Corner Computer Desk.
About the Bush Wheaton Corner Computer Desk:
The Bush Wheaton Corner Computer Desk defines convenient. An included file component catches important documents and can be situated on either the right or the left side of the unit. Its corner design and small footprint won't hog valuable floor space. Printer storage on the desktop keeps equipment out of the way. And when you sit down at it for a bit of work at home, no one will mind if you do so in your pajamas.
This streamlined corner desk is constructed with durable laminate finished in a rich antique black at the base and a warm cherry along the desktop. Pedestal storage - including one large file drawer for letter-size files, one supply drawer, and two top work-in-progress slots for notes and documents - can be situated on either the right or the left side of the unit. A raised printer shelf at one side of the desktop frees the work space for projects, and maybe a few family photographs, too.
I chose this desk for many reasons, but the biggest reason was the large work surface and all of that space definitely comes in handy when I’m working on a homework assignment that requires me to use my computer and multiple textbooks at the same time. I also love that the storage drawers are so spacious and that you can place the drawers on either side of the desk. The corner design makes it so easy to find the perfect spot in your home office, or even your living room, for this desk. The printer shelf is also very convenient for people with small desktop printers.
When my desk arrived I was shocked at how much the box weighed, I seriously could not lift the box from the side of my house (where the FedEx man left it) to get it into the house and I knew that meant that I would not be putting the desk together on my own. When I opened the box (with my BIL’s help) I was instantly overwhelmed by all of the pieces, the hardware, the pages of instructions, to be honest, I wasn’t sure at first glance that I could even manage to put the desk together at all—I should have had more faith in myself. Even though there were a lot of pieces to the desk I managed to put the desk together, with a little help from my BIL, in about 4 hours—not bad for someone who has NEVER put anything together on her own. If I can do it, you can definitely do it! Once the desk was assembled I was beyond impressed, this desk is not only highly functional, it’s also gorgeous, I can’t tell you how many compliments I have received!
If you’re in the market for a new computer desk, or maybe you’re interested in another piece of home office furniture, I definitely recommend looking at Hayneedle first…you can’t beat their selection, price and quality! Check out Hayneedle on Facebook and Follow Hayneedle on Twitter!

Pentel has been supplying the world with only the best quality writing utensils for nearly 50 years, they are a leader in innovation and take their commitment to excellence very seriously.
From the Pentel Website:
“Pentel is the only writing instrument company to receive the Deming Award for recognition of the highest standard of quality. Pentel invented roller ball technology... the smoothest way to express ideas. Pentel pioneered graphite lead and our Super Hi-Polymer® Lead is the market leader. Our automatic pencil inventions remain the hallmark of the industry.
We are as committed to quality products as we are to education and the environment. We sponsor numerous educational programs and donate products to libraries, schools and organizations of need. Our dozen boxes, master cartons and blister cards are printed on recycled and recyclable materials. Pentel is working with you to create a healthier environment. “
Pentel sent me several of their fabulous products to review including the EnerGel Deluxe Retractable Pen, Jolt mechanical pencil, RSVP RT Colors pens, and several other goodies! While all of the pens and pencils are amazing there are two in particular that I was very impressed with, the JOLT Automatic Pencil and the EnerGel Deluxe Retractable Gel Pen.
The JOLT automatic pencil shakes the lead out insuring uninterrupted lead flow. The JOLT features revolutionary sliding sleeve technology that automatically advances the lead for uninterrupted use even if the lead breaks due to use. The JOLT automatic pencil also features a contoured barrel for added comfort and a clear window which displays the pencils unique spring mechanism in action. I have to be honest and tell you that I had my reservations about the JOLT (mainly because I don’t like mechanical pencils) but this pencil surprised me, I loved how easy it was to use and how much easier it made using a mechanical pencil. One of the other standout products in my opinion was the EnerGel Deluxe Retractable Pen. I am a sucker for liquid gel pens as they seem to write so much more easily and eloquently, but this pen has quickly become one of my absolute favorite writing utensils. The EnerGel Deluxe Retractable Gel Pen is a top click, retractable pen with 0.7mm metal tip produces crisp, medium lines in black ink. The vivid, super-smooth liquid gel ink dries quickly without smearing, making it great for left-handed writers. Conveniently refillable with Pentel LR7 ink refill.
Between my obsession with ink pens and the need to have an abundance of high quality, affordable, writing utensils around the house for both mine and the girls’ school work, you just cannot go wrong with Pentel!

School starts today for my girlies, and they are super excited to get back into the swing of things at school. Back to School means that our Back to School Blowout is still going strong…make sure you’ve checked out all of the back to school products we’ve introduced you too and don’t forget to enter all of the fabulous giveaways as well!
One of my girls’ favorite parts of back to school shopping is picking out a new lunchbox! I can’t say I blame them, I remember the excitement of packing my lunch up in a brand new lunchbox and showing it off to all of my friends. Of course, not all lunchboxes are created equal and finding one that is just right is a major undertaking, especially for my girl Savanna. Savanna is the type of girl who likes things exactly the way she liked them and as a result of that perfectionism she is not so easy to please.
So we go lunchbox shopping and after what seemed like hours of scouring the shelves and turning her nose up at most of the lunchboxes, Savanna exclaims that she cannot find a lunchbox that she likes. We leave the stores with no lunchboxes and one very disappointed Savanna. On the way home from our unsuccessful shopping trip Savanna tells me, “Mom I want a lunchbox that is cute and unique and not too girly…something that’s made for me!” A few days later I received an email from a company requesting a review called Simply Bags, I go to their website to have a look around and spot their selection of lunch bags …and I knew that I had found exactly what Savanna was looking for! Simply Bags is a company who specializes in monogrammed bags; from personalized tote bags and laptop bags to diaper bags and embroidered lunch bags, Simply Bags is a haven for people who want something different and special in a bag!
For my review I decided on a embroidered lunch bag for Savanna. Their lunch bags are insulated and include complimentary embroidery or monogramming. We decided on having her name embroidered in pink on the front of the blue polka dot bag. Simply Bags has an impressive selection of lunch bags to choose from as well. When I received Savanna’s lunch bag from Simply Bags I couldn’t wait to see it. I have to tell you that when I opened the box and saw the bag I was completely surprised and greatly impressed at how fabulous it was. From it’s adorable half blue, half blue and white polka dot pattern to the cute little pink and green flowers embroidered in the corner it was just so cute. And when I saw how incredible her name looked on the front I knew that we had made the right choice and that Savanna had found THE lunch bag for this school year. Aside from the color and amazing embroidery job, I was shocked at how much room the lunch bag had inside.
Amazing embroidery work!
Tons of room in both the top and bottom (shown above) compartments!
Product Description: Adorable girls lunch tote for school. Insulated top with zippered bottom. Use with or without the lower portion 9” x 6” storage container. Great colors… Ocean blue or summer green. Coordinates with our girls beach tote for a matched set. Includes name or three letter monogram.
This lunch bag is absolutely worth every penny of its $24.99 price tag…and can you believe that price…amazing!
Buy it!
You can purchase this lunch box and SO much more at Simply-Bags.com!

Last semester I had to take a pre-algebra course for college (that means you get to pay the same amount as you do for your other classes, but it doesn’t count towards your progress…gotta love that). In my defense I did happen to take the COMPASS test (or what I like to call…the college placement test for old people) about 10 years after I finished high school, so I didn’t remember anything. I did extremely well in my pre-algebra class, nothing below a 92 (yay me) but college algebra is another story entirely! Thank goodness I had a secret weapon last semester in my TI-83 Plus, for those of you not into the whole math thing, that’s a Texas Instruments calculator and my best friend last semester. This semester called for something a little more advanced, and I found that in the TI-Nspire!
A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to do a review for the TI-Nspire, knowing that my college algebra class was getting closer and closer I couldn’t resist the opportunity. Texas Instruments (the company responsible for making the invaluable TI-Nspire, “provides a wide range of advanced tools connecting the classroom experience with real-world applications, helping students and teachers to explore math and science interactively.” The TI-Nspire with Touchpad is a graphing calculator that is perfect for any student (middle school through college) taking math, from algebra to calculus. In fact, the TI-Nspire can be used in 19 high school and college level math classes including: algebra and calculus, math and science, statistics, trigonometry, and engineering math. Even more comforting is the fact that the TI-Nspire graphing calculators are backed by research that shows graphing calculators can help to improve students’ math skills. It’s a fact that more students are taking higher level-math courses today; according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress report card for 2008 shows that the number of 17 year olds taking pre-calculus has tripled over the last 30 years. The TI-Nspire graphing calculator with touchpad has many advanced features that allow students to gain a better understanding as they make their way through advanced courses.
From the Texas Instruments Website:
TI-Nspire Graphing Calculator Features
- Like a computer in your hand. The versatile graphing calculator has many computer-like features, including a large, high-resolution screen, drop down menus and a built-in cursor which helps students explore problem solving strategies in real-time.
- Save and review work. Thanks to electronic document capabilities and built-in 20 MB of storage, students can create, save and edit their work similar to the word processing and file storage of a computer.
- 2 calculators, plus computer software, in one. Interchangeable keypads allow students to use the calculator in TI-Nspire, TI-84 Plus and TI-83 Plus modes, and included computer software brings the TI-Nspire experience to a PC or Mac.
- FREE access to AP*, SAT* and ACT prep questions from The Princeton Review, including AP calculus, biology, chemistry, economics and all-new 2009 physics questions
- FREE minutes of online homework help from Tutor.com for entering your graphing calculator id at http://www.tutor.com/ti/
- GraphiTI stickers for students to design and customize their calculator are available online for purchase
- FREE downloadable games and application

I hope y’all are enjoying Misadventures Back to School Blowout! Make sure you check out the awesome products that we’ve already featured and don’t forget to enter the giveaways as well!
One of my absolute worst fears in high school was forgetting my locker combination. As a matter of fact, I can’t tell you how many times I forget it and was stuck staring at the lock for what seemed like hours trying to remember the combination. No matter how simple the combination, I seemed to always have trouble opening my locker. If you had this problem then I am sure you can relate. This past year was my oldest daughter’s first experience with locks on lockers and she was less than thrilled about having to remember a combination. If you or your kids have “locker combination anxiety” stayed tuned because I have two awesome products from Master Lock that will definitely make remembering a combination a breeze!
Master Lock is helping teens survive the teen years in style and fun with the introduction of two great new products: Speed Dial Set-Your-Own Combination and the Precision Dial Set-Your-Own Combination locks. I have to say that I was very excited to try out both of these products and I cannot wait to tell you all about them.
The 1500iD Speed Dial Set-Your-Own Combination lock features a first-of-its-kind design that opens on directional movements—up, down, left, right—instead of a standard rotary dial. The lock is much faster to open than traditional locks and saves valuable time when you’re rushing between classes. The innovative lock is customizable, allowing students to create their own east-to-remember, resettable combination with any number of movements in any sequence. For those who prefer more traditional methods of recalling their combination, the lock includes adhesive letters, numbers, colors, and shapes that can be applied to the lock’s directional dials making recalling your combination easier than ever.
The 1590D Precision Dial Set-Your-Own Combination lock is designed for those students who prefer more traditional rotary padlocks, but with a twist! The Precision lock offers users a resettable combination feature in a familiar format. Students can leave memorization for their math books and choose their own combination with this lock using three letters or numbers. The lock operates with a standard right-left-right movement, and an enclosed reset tool ensures students will never need to worry about forgetting their combination again.
Of course, both the Speed Dial and the Precision Dial are available in an array of vibrant colors. The Speed Dial is available in red, blue, white, black, and chrome and the Precision Dial is available in pink, black, blue, and green. Both locks are available on Amazon.com (link on the side) with suggested retail prices of $8.99 and $7.99! Another cool feature of the locks is the ability to store your combination online at combolocker.com. The combination or key numbers are stored in a secure database and can be accessed 24/7, 365!
As I mentioned above Master Lock is helping teens survive the teen years…and adding a little fun by offering some pretty awesome contests! The back to school video series, “The Secret Combination to Surviving the Teen Years” is a fun way to engage teens and communicate the functionality and security that Master Lock provides. You can check out the video series (and enter the contests) online on Master Lock’s YouTube Channel.
I received both the Speed Dial and the Precision Dial for my review. I was very excited about trying these locks as my past experience with remembering combination hasn’t been great. I was also so glad that there was finally a lock that my oldest daughter could use without worrying about forgetting her combination. The Speed Dial has turned into my absolute favorite combination lock ever! I love how easy it is to open and even better how easy it is to remember the combination…it really was as simple as remembering—up,up,down, down! As a matter of fact, the Speed Dial was so easy that all of the big kids could open it without even locking at the directional arrow, and my three year old figured out how to open it in about 2 minutes! We truly did love this lock and all of the kids demanded that we go out and get one for each of them for their lockers this year! The Precision Dial was just as easy to use as the Speed Dial, remembering a combination of numbers and letters seemed to make remembering the combination so much easier. My daughter Savanna had the combination down pat in just a few try's and commented that she wanted one as soon as she was in middle school.
I would definitely recommend both of these locks for any student!

Our BTS Blowout is going full steam ahead…I mean come on, when is the last time you’ve known me to post on Saturday? Anyway we have a ton of great products and awesome giveaways left so make sure you stick around!
As I am sure many parents will agree, shopping for clothes is one of the most daunting and least fun parts of shopping for back to school. While I don’t usually mind shopping for clothes, shopping for clothes with two girls who have very different tastes and have not yet quite grasped the concept of what “affordable” is, is challenging at best. That’s why when I have the opportunity to shop online I am all for it and that is just one of the reasons why I love Tea!
No, not the drink (though I do love a big ole glass of the sweet iced variety) Tea clothing. Tea started in San Francisco in 2002 with three pima cotton sweaters. Tea offers children’s fashions with the tagline “for little citizens of the world”, celebrating the beauty found in different cultures from around the world.
Tea offers clothing for children from birth to age 12 for boys and girls. The Tea Collection is a unique mixture of colors, textures, and fabrics from around the world, in my opinion it is that uniqueness that makes Tea stand apart. Tea gets the inspiration from their clothing from everyday items around the world; a manhole cover in Budapest served as the inspiration for a boys pullover, Nesting Dolls proved to be too beautiful to simply display so the people at Tea used them as the inspiration for a girls tee, and so on and so on. Not only are Tea’s clothing beautifully simplistic and absolutely adorable, they are also well-made and surprisingly affordable!
My beautiful daughter Savanna modeling her dress!
To enter this giveaway please visit TeaCollection.com and have a look around, come back here and leave a comment on this post telling me which 2 items are your favorite! This is super simple and easy, but also mandatory!

Good Luck!

Did you know that nearly 22 million days of school are missed each year because of the common cold and the flu (CDC)? Or that there are as many as 2.7 million bacteria found per square inch on common school supplies (NSF International)? That kind of makes the plea of “Don’t share your pencils” much more urgent! This school year Seventh Generation is sharing tips from best-selling author and pediatrician, Dr. Alan Greene, to help parents protect their child’s health during back-to-school season. Dr. Greene gives the following precautions:
Optimize the immune system
- Reap the benefits of probiotics like those found in yogurt. A recent study showed that children who received enough probiotics daily throughout the cold and flu season had a significant reduction in the number of illnesses they had and, when they did get sick, the symptoms were both milder and didn't last as long.
- Be sure your child is getting plenty of vitamin D from the sun, from food, or from a supplement.
- Build a strong foundation. Good food, good sleep, and good physical activity all help the immune system to flourish.
- Teach children the key times to clean their hands in the classroom. The most important times include after sneezing, coughing or using the restroom, upon leaving "high-risk" places (recess, naptime, play stations) and before meals or snacks.
- Sixty percent of teachers surveyed said that they request that parents donate disinfecting wipes to the classroom. Seventh Generation’s disinfecting wipes kill 99.99% of germs* naturally using the active ingredient thyme, a component of thyme oil which is derived from the herb thyme.
- Stress the importance of not touching their eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
- Demonstrate to your children how to cover their mouth and nose for every cough and sneeze. This simple maneuver has spectacular results in decreasing the spread of viruses and bacteria floating about the room, waiting to be inhaled.
Through MyBlogSpark I received a Seventh Generation gift pack to review. I’ve never used Seventh Generation prior to this review, but I had heard so many great things about both the company and their products fr
Since I strongly feel that honestly is the best policy (especially where review bloggers are concerned) I have to say that I do not love the scent of the Seventh Generation products. That being said I hate the smell of bleach too! Aside from the smell I love everything about the products that I reviewed! It may sound strange but it just felt like my house was cleaner after using the Seventh Generation products—and I live for that feeling! The best part about using the Seventh Generation products though is that I feel like I’m giving my children a fighting chance against the germs and illnesses that will surely plague their (and many other) school this year!
How would you like to win a Seventh Generation prize pack just in time for Back to School? Well thanks to MyBlogSpark and Seventh Generation you can! One Misadventures in Baby Raising reader will win the Seventh Generation Prize Pack shown below!

So, I have a great BTS giveaway for all of my lovely readers! I have a $25 Kroger Gift Card to give away to one very lucky reader…so you can get started adding up the savings!

I don’t know about you, but I’m the type of person who obsesses over what to wear to Wal Mart, so BTS means major shopping time! One of my favorite back to school combos are jeans and a cute tee shirt and I found a company who makes cute tees with an artistic flare—Stellarocco.
Stellarocco produced cute tees and tops with modern botanical prints. Want to know more about Stellarocco?
“Stellarocco is an artsy, yet versatile line of t-shirts and tops with modern botanical silhouettes. Described by many as a line of "pretty, everyday tees", Stellarocco has become a favorite for its original designs, ultra soft cottons and affordable price points.I have a definite love of all things different, and Stellarocco tees are just that! Between the amazing designs and the fact that each shirt is silk screened by hand, I just don’t know how it can get any better. Stellarocco tees are available in long and short sleeves and several different colors, designs, and necklines.
Designer/Owner Dina Paulos was inspired to start Stellarocco after living a year abroad in Auckland, and experiencing the city's vibrant independent clothing and art community. Utilizing her experience in the Fashion Industry and love of modern design, Dina focuses on creating nature-inspired designs with a modern look. Her favorite pieces incorporate subtle metallics, brights and tonal ink colors on tops that can be easily dressed up or down.
Each original Stellarocco design is paired with specific colors and various 100% cotton shirt styles, then silk screened by hand to give each shirt a slightly unique look.”

One of my absolute favorite companies for BTS products is Carolina Pad, not only are their products sold at Wal Mart (among many other places) they are funky, hip, unique, and affordable! For those of you who haven’t heard of Carolina Pad let me give you a little bit of their history. Carolina Pad started in North Carolina in 1954 when Joseph K. Hall Jr. scraped up enough money to start a school supply manufacturing company. By selling notebook paper with more sheets at lower prices than their competitors Carolina Pad was able to gain a solid foothold in the market. In 2000 Carolina Pad turned the school supply world upside down when they introduced fashion into the ho-hum world of school supplies. By consistently offering their customers quality affordable school supplies that are trendy and fun, Carolina Pad is able to stay at the forefront of the school and office supply industry.
As I mentioned above I really love Carolina Pad’s products, not only do I buy them for my oldest girls for BTS, but I also make sure to pick up a few notebooks and pens for myself for my classes! Of course, Carolina Pad offers their customers a lot more than pens and notebooks; they also sell bags and totes, art and craft supplies, personal office supplies, and so much more. Carolina Pad has so many great collections for BTS and everyday office needs.
Studio C- Carolina Pad’s Signature brand, allows you to express your style with today’s hottest fashions.
Note 2 Self- Hip, trendy back-to-school collections. Budget-friendly and stylish.
Notebound- Durable, functional notebooks for everyday.
Ghostline- The ghosted grid makes projects easy.
Sasquatch- Eco-friendly products for those who treasure paper as much as they treasure trees.
U Create- Creativity products for all ages.
When the girls and I go back to school shopping it is always with a strict budget, and with my girls both insisting they have “the coolest” BTS supplies it’s often a struggle to get the most for my money, with Carolina Pad I know I’m giving them what they want and still saving money…it’s a great feeling!
Carolina Pad generously sent me several products from the collections from Studio C brand by Carolina Pad. Included in the products were:
- 1-subject notebook – MSRP $2.50
- 18 month Planner – MSRP $4.00
- 2-pkt folder (3 pack) – MSRP $2.50
- 1” Binder – MSRP $2.50
- Composition book – MSRP $2.50
- Ideal Book – MSRP $2.50
- Pens – MSRP $2.50
- Pencils – MSRP $2.50
The items that I received to review (pictured above) are part of Carolina Pad’s Studio C collection that are available exclusively for the back to school season (July-September) at Wal Mart. These collections include: Rock-On, Graffiti, Rising Sun, Peace, Free Spirit, Eye Candy, and Mo Rockin. I have to say that not only did I love the products because they were from Carolina Pad, I loved them because they were absolutely gorgeous and fit my 11 year olds personality to a tee! Fun, funky, fresh, and fabulous, those are the words I would use to describe the Studio C products from Carolina Pad. My 11 year old LOVED them and cannot wait to show them off on the first day of school, Mommy on the other hand is a little bummed that my daughter called dibs on every single product before I had a chance to—not to worry mommy managed to wrestle away a few goodies for herself! I’m pretty sure your elementary, middle, high school, and/or college student will love this collection as much as my daughter and myself do! And let’s not forget that at prices like that…we can afford to buy a ton to keep at home for later in the year (something I always do). And you can check out Carolina Pad’s Facebook and Twitter pages to see all of the cool back to school products and deals!
So, Carolina Pad has very generously offered a giveaway for my readers…can you say yay!
Win it!
One MIBR reader is going to win a collection of products selected from the Studio C collection! How totally awesome is that?
