EcoStore USA Review and Giveaway!!!! ~~CLOSED~~

I think becoming parents makes us more aware of things that we never thought twice about before we had our bundles of joy. Before I had kids I never worried about what kind of chemicals were in my toilet cleaner or if the shampoo I used was good for the planet, but as soon as I brought my daughter home from the hospital all of that changed. Suddenly being "green" took on a whole new meaning!

Hearing all of the negative things that have been brought to light recently about everything from the lead amounts in the toys our children play with to the chemicals that are in the baby shampoo we use has really made me take stock of the products I use in my home, that's why when I was approached by EcoStore USA to review some of their products I was very excited to do so.

EcoStore USA offers "eco friendly, plant-based household cleaning products are as effective as the leading supermarket brands, and our body and baby care ranges are gentle on your skin and are simply beautiful to use."

All of the products that EcoStore USA offers are made from plant and mineral based ingredients, they are free of chemicals (as a matter of fact their philosophy is "No Nasty Chemicals"), and they are all safe for the environment...come on how much more can a mom ask for? Their product line features everything from baby care products to products for your pet and everything in between.

We were lucky enough to get to try out three of EcoStore USA's great baby care products; Baby Nappy Balm, Baby Sleepytime Bath, and Baby Soap. I can't tell you how reassuring it was using these products on my babies knowing that they were 100% safe and free of all of the toxic chemicals that we all worry about! I loved the smell of the baby soap and not only did it do a great job of getting my dirty lil man clean it also left him with that baby soft skin that we all love. The Baby Sleepytime bath did wonders for Ki Ki, she has colic and it seems that she never settles down and just relaxes, but when I used the Sleepytime Bath I could tell a world of difference, she seemed more calm and so much less fussy and getting her to go to sleep was dreamfully easy! The Baby Nappy Balm is amazing for diaper rashes or just as a soothing balm for babies bottom. I absolutely loved all of the products I used and would definitely use them again and not only are the products great for baby and the planet they're pretty easy on your wallet as well!

Not only were the people at EcoStore USA kind enough to let me try out some of their products they are also generously giving one of my readers a $25.00 gift certificate to EcoStore USA...how cool is that? So I guess you wanna know how you can win huh? Well...

1. To be enetered into this awesome giveaway all you have to do is head over to EcoStore USA and then leave a comment on this post telling me what products you would like to try...that's it...pretty simple!

    Chicken Fry Salad...Yum!

As I've confessed several times I am not a great cook. I mean sure I can cook the heck out of anything that comes prepackaged and all I have to do is add a few ingredients, but as far as making something from scratch I am completely clueless.

There used to be this pizza place in my town and when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter I craved their food! More specifically I craved their Chicken Fry Salads...I mean I could eat these all day every day! They closed quite a few years ago and I was devastated because I loved those damn salads, so I had to try to make it on my own and to my surprise I did (now I know you're all like how hard could a salad be, and it's not, but just the stress of wondering if mine would be as good as theirs was enough to make me lose my mind). I'm happy to report that mine tasted better and I wanted to share this quick, easy, delicious, and not all that bad for your body recipe with y'all...enjoy!

Now since I never write recipes for anything that I make I'm just going to show you how I make it...yes I took pictures!

First I take 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts and marinate them in 1 1/2 cups of Italian dressing for about an hour. Then I cut them in bite size pieces, add salt and pepper, and cook them on the stove top in about a teaspoon of vegetable oil until cooked through. (You can also grill the chicken and then cut it up and it tastes equally amazing!)

At the same time the chicken is marinating I start the fries in the oven and cook them until they are crispy and golden brown.

I then take whatever bagged salad mix I have and add cucumber, green pepper, and whatever other veggies I have around.

You assemble it with the salad on the bottom, then fries, chicken, cheese, and dressing and I promise you this is the best salad you will ever eat! Enjoy!

Mommy, Why don't you love me?

As you may or may not I divorced my middle daughter Nay Nay's dad a few years ago, she was only 4 when we got divorced and wasn't quite sure what was going on but as she gets older she starts asking me more and more questions and sometimes they are not easy to answer...like the one she asked me last night!

I was in the middle of fixing dinner when Nay Nay came into the kitchen and sat down at the table and started starring at me. Now I have known the child long enough to know that when she's not saying anything she's about to say/do/or ask something that I'm not ready for. So I gathered all the courage I could muster (and don't laugh because this child comes up with some crazy stuff...just read this one of my first posts about her) and asked, "What's wrong?" This is how our conversation played out:

    Me: What's wrong Nay Nay?
NN: Mommy...why don't you love me?
ME: (See what I mean I can not win with this child) What are you talking about?
NN: Well you divorced my Daddy cause you didn't love him right?
    ME: Yes.
NN: Well I'm a part of my Daddy and if you don't love him then how can you love me cause I'm from him?
ME: (trying not to let her see me sweat) Sweetie me not loving your Daddy has nothing to do with loving you...you're a part of me too and I couldn't love you more!
NN: Are you sure cause I love you a lot!
ME: Of course I'm sure I love you to Santa Claus' house and back (this is the one measure my kids give to love...and if I don't say it I can't possibly love them that much) forever and always!
NN: (smiling) Good Mommy cause I didn't want you to divorce me too!

And there you have it...out of the mouth of babes! I swear sometimes she amazes me with the things she comes up with!

    Eden Fantasys Review...(ADULTS ONLY)

Alright y'all, put the babies to bed, grab your significant others, and get ready for some major fun! Go ahead, I'll wait!...~Checks Watch~...All set? Great, let's go!

I'll be the first person to admit that I am not shy, actually I'm quit
e the opposite! That combined with the fact that I just can't seem to keep my mouth shut about things that I love is apparently a PR person's dream, because I was asked by a great company called Eden Fantasys (who you may or may not have heard of, but I assure you will never forget when I'm done) to do a review of some of their products.

So I know you're like, "So what? People do product reviews all the time!"
And while that is absolutely true, this review is for grown-ups only and I haven't seen too many of them, of course Lex has been there done this ( a couple times) and we love her for it!

Now I know that not everyone is as open about their sex lives as I may feel comfortable being so I promise you no play by play of the actual reviewing of the products. However, I will tell you that I know how hard it is being a mom and still trying to find time for ourselves and our significant others, but these products will make you put in the effort...I promise!

When I was asked to do a review for Eden Fantasys I was super excite
d (alright that may be the biggest understatement of the year). I am certainly no stranger to adult toys; I worked as a consultant (which just means I got to host parties and sell products) for a few years (now I know that you guys didn't know that about me) so I've pretty much seen it all! In my experience all of the adult toy sites are pretty much the same, except for Eden Fantasys; it is by far the best I've seen! The website is easy to navigate, with great pictures, and wonderful product descriptions, which is great because let's face it some of the products are not self explanatory! The people are great to work with and they definitely make shopping for sex toys (yes I typed it) so much less embarrassing.

In all of my excitement waiting for my package to arrive I didn't even stop to think about the fact that a package of adult toys would be arriving in my mailbox, so when I did start thinking about it I started freaking out thinking of all of the people who would see the package (the mail lady, my kids, my mom). I was mortified, but yesterday when my package arrived I didn't even know what it was! It came in a standard white shipping box with a nondescript shipping label (thank goodness because my oldest daughter actually checked the mail that day and was very peeved when I wouldn't let her open the box) that didn't even mention the company's name (Brownie points for that). And I can not go on about how quickly it arrived, I'm talking 2 days and it was here...they are majorly fast!
(See no big, black letters announcing...THIS IS A SEX TOY...very discreet)

Of course when I opened the box (thank goodness I had enough sense to do it in the privacy of my bedroom) I was excited all over again! The product that I chose for my review is called the Mistress Kit (don't you just love the name...kinda makes you feel all dominatrix-ish). I chose the Mistress Kit because I thought it would be the perfect way to spice up our love life without entering too deeply into the ever scary (at least for me) world of whips and chains...and I was not disappointed! The Mistress Kit is rated one of the top 10 light BDSM kits and is endorsed by famous sex educator Dr. Laura Berman, but if that's not reason enough to try it then let me go on. The kit includes a sensual purple feather tickler for driving your partner crazy, a matching pair of faux-fur lined handcuffs with keys, a satiny purple blindfold, and a pretty purple mesh bag to store it all in...pretty cool huh?
The contents of the Mistress Kit...so much fun!

I'm always trying to find new ways to add a little excitement in the bedroom and this kit was perfect...it's the perfect balance of kinky and sensual and it is definitely something I would recommend for all couples! I think women will enjoy this kit for the sense of control and dominance it gives you and I think that men will love it because it's something different and exciting! No matter how open you are to trying new things I think this kit is the perfect starting point!

Whatever your preference I promise you Eden Fantasys has what you're looking for!

Help Spread the Word about Newborn Tetanus!

A great lady that I just met Charity Mojo is having a giveaway on her blog. Now I don't usually post about giveaways because there are so many that are great and I just do not have time, but this one is helping to spread the word about a great cause so I was more than happy to help!

From now until May 1st. Pampers is teaming up with Unicef to help save lives. For every specially marked pack of Pampers diapers you buy Pampers will donate the cost of one vaccine to the US Fund for Unicef! Such an easy way to help save lives if you ask me doing something most of us do already!

The cause? Newborn tetanus. When I first saw the commercials on television bring this issue to light I had no idea that tetanus was even an issue, but it is! Tetanus claims the life of 130,000 newborns and up to 30,000 mothers a year...those numbers are staggering considering that neonatal tetanus is the most easily preventable form of neonatal deaths!

So what about the giveaway? Well she's giving away 3 very cute onesies like the one below...you can check her giveaway out here! So head on over to her blog and help her spread the word about newborn tetanus and get entered into this giveaway!

My 1st Giveaway...Help a Good Cause and Win some Jewelry! ***CLOSED***

As women it's important that we take an active role in caring for our hearts!

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States, with more than 44 million of us living with or being at risk for heart disease. Those numbers are scary, but what's more scary is the fact that the majority of us are unaware that there is even a problem! Women with inadequate access to health care are at an even greater risk for developing heart disease.

There are several things we can do to help us maintain good heart health; proper diet, regular exercise, and not smoking are all excellent ways to ensure that we're giving our hearts the proper attention.

One of the best things women can do to help maintain a healthy heart is to have regular cholesterol screenings. Cheerios is teaming up with WomenHeart to help educate women on the risks of heart disease as well as helping make free cholesterol screenings possible for women who wouldn't be able to afford them otherwise.

Where do we come in? From now until January 31, 2010 for every code (codes can be found on specially marked boxes of Cheerios cereal like the ones on the left) entered at www.cheerioshelpinghearts.com Cheerios will donate $1.00 (up to $200,000) to raise awareness for heart disease and provide free cholesterol screenings for women who are in need of them.

So what does this have to do with a giveaway...well I'm getting to that! When I was asked to help spread the word about what Cheerios was doing I jumped at the chance and I also got a little incentive to do so...what you might ask? Well I received a beautiful Freshwater Pearl Bracelet with a heart charm from Charity Charms (a portion of all of their proceeds go to help various charities) and the opportunity for 3 (yes 3) of my wonderful readers to win a bracelet of their own (like the one below)!

So of course there are rules (aren't there always)!

All you have to do to to get entered into this giveaway is to leave a comment on this post telling me what you do to maintain a healthy heart, it's that simple! Make sure to leave your email address in your comment (or make sure that it is visible on your blogger account) so that I have a way to contact you if you're a winner!

EXTRA ENTRIES: You can get up to 10 entries into this contest by doing a little extra work! You can do one or all of the following, just make sure that you leave a separate comment for each entry!

    1. Follow Me...New followers make me super happy and it can get you 2 extra entries into this contest!

    2. Grab my button and put it on your blog and you've just gotten yourself 2 more entries!

    3. Blog about this giveaway with links to this post as well as cheerioshelpinghearts.com for 3 more entries! (Spreading awareness about heart disease in women is really what this is all about!)

    4. For 2 extra entries go to WomenHeart and give me a fact or figure related to heart disease in women (hint...the facts and figures are under the resources tab).

This giveaway will end on Monday March 23, 2009 @ 11:59 p.m. EDT.
Winners will be chosen using Random.org! Good luck!

    Apparently I'm a Kreativ Blogger

So the lovely Sassy Cass over @ Sassy and the Boys gave me an awesome award. The award is called the Kreativ Blogger award and though I'm not quite sure I've been very creative lately I love it because I'm a sucker for getting and giving awards!

So I'm supposed to tell y'all 7 things that I love and since my kiddos are sleeping at the moment (Praise Jesus) I figured what the heck....
    1. Mt. Dew I could not (and wouldn't even attempt) get through the day without it!
    2. Skulls...no not human ones, you know the cute ones like this...
    3. Gone With the Wind and more specifically Scarlett O'Hara, but not in some totally weird lesbian sorta way more like I wanted to be her when I was little, but that's another blog post!
    4. Thunderstorms in the summer...falling asleep listening to the rain is my favorite!
    5. Seeing my babies smile it's the best feeling in the world!
    6. Guys with tattoos, though not too many (my fiance is starting to run outta room on his body so I had to cut him off).
    7. My Sinful T-shirts...they are so cute (if you like skulls and dark stuff like that) and they are so comfortable!
Alright so now I get to give this award to some of my bloggy buddies and that is truly my favorite part so here goes!

And I could go on and on but I won't enjoy the award girls and guy!
