Calling all fans of The Big Bang Theory—did you know that TBBT is now on 5 nights a week—can you say awesomeness?!?
If you’ve been checking out my The Big Bang Theory posts lately, then you know that I am working on another great campaign with WB Word for The Big Bang Theory in syndication! Since TBBT is all about friendships this week we’re talking competing against friends and the rough patches that can sometimes happen as a result!
In episode 13 from season one of The Big Bang Theory, “The Bat Jar Conjecture,” which airs Wednesday October 10th, Sheldon’s arrogance ostracizes him from the group which leads to him competing directly against his friends with Sheldon's Group. Have you ever competed against a good friend? If your best friend knew that one item that would make a mends, what would it be? Is it as funny as a batman cookie jar?
I love my friends, and the last thing that I would ever want to do is compete against them for something, but there have definitely been times that I’ve had to and the results got a little messy.
One time that comes to mind was a competition between me and a great friend of mine and our rival cheerleading squads at a competition. My friend and I made a pact if you will from the beginning promising the other that we wouldn’t get super competitive against each other, but when it came down to my team and her team in the finals it was hard not to let that happen. Naturally we both wanted our friendship to endure competing against each other, but we also very much wanted to see our own team ultimately win. During the week that led up to the competition we barely spoke and when we did the conversation was strained and tense—it was awful. When the time came for our teams to compete we both wished each other good luck and then watched and coached as our girls took to the mat and gave it their all, but ultimately I had to watch as her team took 1st place. It was tough to see her beat me, but it was ever tougher to see the disappointment on the faces of my cheerleaders. After all was said and done my friend walked up to me with her coaches trophy in her hand and said, “In my mind you were the definite winner!” and handed the trophy to me. No more words were exchanged, we just hugged and instantly all bad feelings, disappointment, and any resentment that may have been there before was gone. Definitely not as funny as a Batman cookie jar, but so special to both of us!

I’m pretty sure that I’ve mentioned this before, but I love this time of year! From the leaves changing to my favorite holiday being right around the corner—Halloween! And another awesome part of fall that I love is The Big Bang Theory coming to syndication—that means it’s on 5 nights a week y’all and I couldn’t be happier!
Last Monday’s episode (“The Middle Earth Paradigm” from Season 1) has TBBT gang attending a costume party in Penny’s apartment and their costume choices are interesting, to say the least. Penny dresses as a cat, Sheldon dresses as the Doppler effect, Leonard is Frodo from Lord of the Rings, Howard is Robin Hood but gets mistaken for Peter Pan and Raj is Thor, the Norse god of thunder.
Now, I am sure that I am not the only one who thinks that Raj, the undisputed quietest in the group, choice of Thor is a bit out of character, but I think it’s usually the quiet one who has aspirations of being big and might—right? On the other hand, I think that Sheldon’s choice of the Doppler Effect fits his character to a T as do Leonard’s Frodo and even Howard’s Robin Hood. Penny’s cat costume in my eyes is a little off for her though as I can see her dressing up as a more female empowered role, like her Wonder Woman costume in a later episode.
So who wins the costume contest in your opinion? I say Raj and his Thor getup. Why you ask? Well, dressing up in a costume is supposed to bring you out of your element, you’re supposed to have fun with it and transform yourself into something that is the total opposite of who you really are and Raj as Thor definitely fits the bill—at least I think so!

I’ve mentioned to you all before that I am a big fan of The Big Bang Theory and I am super psyched that they are now in syndication where I can watch 5 nights a week—LOVE that! And since I am such a fan of TBBT, WB Word has asked me to help them again with another fun The Big Bang Theory campaign!
As with every campaign, each week I am given a prompt or theme to write about and this week’s theme is:
In the Pilot Episode of The Big Bang Theory that aired Monday 9/19, Leonard meets Penny for the first time and is immediately infatuated with her. While his roommates say that she is an unattainable goal, Leonard is an idealist and strives to be worthy of her. Even going so far as to confront her much larger and stronger ex-boyfriend, resulting in him getting de-pantsed. What's the most embarrassing thing you've had happen to you?
Honestly, I don’t usually enjoy sharing my embarrassing moments with other people, but I’ll make an exception—just this once!
The single most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me was when I was a cheerleader in elementary school. We had to wear spanks under our skirts and over our panties. Right before one of the games I had to use the bathroom so I hurried to the restroom and ran back to the gym before the game started. When I got back to my teams bench I sat down beside my friends and noticed that they were all giggling, I could feel myself getting hot and embarrassed because I knew that they were laughing at me, I just wasn’t sure why. Growing tired of the laughter I asked my best friend who happened to be sitting beside me what everyone was laughing about and she laughed and pointed to the back of my skirt, still not understanding what was going on I stood up and grabbed the back of my skirt and realized that the toilet paper from the bathroom had gotten stuck in my spanks and was sticking out the back of my skirt! I was mortified! I ran back to the restroom, removed the toilet paper and then spent the entire game crying in the locker room…it was truly one of the worst moments ever for me—thank goodness time heals all wounds lol.
Have you had an embarrassing moment that rivaled mine or maybe even Leonard's?
If you love The Big Bang Theory as much as I do be sure to check out http://www.bigbangweeknights.com/ to view your local listing…enjoy!

If you’ve been following along lately, you probably know that I’ve been working with WB Word on The Big Bang Theory Season 4 on DVD campaign, well, we’re on the fourth and final week of the campaign and this week we’re talking all about friendships!
Until season 4, 'The Big Bang Theory' primarily focused on the core friendship of the guys with Penny as the lone girl. In Season 4, Penny gets some girlfriends with the introduction of Bernadette and Amy. Do you think that guys and girls can have standalone deep friendship or do girls need girl time and guys need time with the boys?
First and foremost can I just say, how freaking awesome is it that Mayim Bialik (perhaps best known for her role as Blossom on the TV show of the same name) joined the case of The Big Bang Theory? I LOVE her!
Now onto the question at hand…girl/guy friendships. Honestly, I have to be honest and admit that I have more good guy friends than girls. It has always seemed to be easier for me to be friends with guys than with other girls, that said though, I do have a handful of great girlfriends that I’ve been friends with most of my life.
To answer the question I think that girls and guys can absolutely have standalone deep friendships, some of my best friends in the world are guys, but I also think that girls definitely need girl time and guys definitely need guy time every now and then. There are just some things that no matter how close your friendships are with the opposite sex you would rather talk about with other girls or other guys. I know that I cherish the time I spend with all of my friends and while I do seem to have a better time when I’m hanging out with the guys, I wouldn’t trade girl time for anything!

Hey all you fans of The Big Bang Theory, it’s time to talk roommates with two of our favorite roommates from the show, Sheldon and Leonard!
Anyone who has ever had a roommate knows how much of a rollercoaster ride it can be and whether you’re rooming with friends or family it’s always an adventure! On The Big Bang Theory Sheldon and Leonard are roommates and while they are best friends they also pester each other to no end—who can forget the Roommate Agreement?
So my question to this week is: What is your most memorable roommate experience?
Hmm, that’s a hard one because I’ve honestly had some great memorable roommate experiences and some not so great, but equally memorable roommate experiences. I think I’ll keep this post upbeat and choose my very first roommate experience right out of high school with one of my best friends at the time Amy.
Amy and I moved into a one bedroom apartment shortly before graduation our senior year, it was a small apartment filled with odds and ends of furniture that our parents had given us, but to us it was the best freaking apartment ever! We had so many good times, and couple bad ones too, in our apartment that it would be nearly impossible to name the most memorable, but trust me when I say that everything we did we did it big and it made a lasting impression! I remember when we decided to pick up and move to North Carolina and we gave up our apartment only to come back from down south two weeks later with no place to live— not the smartest thing to do. It was a sad day when we had to say goodbye to our first place, but the memories that we made there will forever be part of who we are!
So I want to know if you’ve ever had a memorable roommate experience? Who was it? How was the relationship between the two of you?

Alright all of you The Big Bang Theory fans…it’s time for more fun with the guys, and girls, of TBBT! As I mentioned last week I’m working with WBWord on a fun campaign around The Big Bang Theory Season 4 on DVD. This week we’re talking about the work dynamic.
The guys on 'The Big Bang Theory' have a very fun and playful work dynamic, often joking around with each other and playing games. Because they work at CalTech, most of their jokes revolve around astrophysics and Wolowitz's lack of a PhD! Describe your current or past work dynamic. Are you good friends with your co-workers? What fun jokes have you established with your work-mates?
This is an area where I don’t really have that much experience, well, experience in the traditional job field anyway. My actual experience in an job setting is limited to the assistant manager positions that I worked before having children and becoming a stay-at-home-mom. I do however, have nearly 3 years as a blogger and I would definitely say it’s more than a job. SO…I am great friends with a couple of blogger that I met early on in my blogging journey! It’s amazing that I can count ladies that I’ve never actually had the pleasure of meeting in real life as such good friends, but that’s just one of the many things that make blogging so unique and amazing. While I’m not sure that there are really any “jokes” in the blogosphere that are comparable to those shared by the gang on TBBT, there are some things that we do all share and laugh at.
Do you love The Big Bang Theory as much as I do? Then make sure you pick up The Big Bang Theory Season 4 on DVD available here: http://bit.ly/oLtFCY!

I’m a stickler for a good laugh and while I don’t watch many sitcoms I do happen to enjoy The Big Bang Theory (thanks to my mom for telling me how hilarious it is). That’s why I’m psyched to be working with Warner Bros. WBWord on a month long campaign for TBBT! Like all previous WB campaigns I’m given a theme or prompt each week to talk about, and this week’s theme deals with dating and in particular dating those with “beautiful minds”.
Theme:
A lot of people go after hip and popular, but these days geek is chic. Tell us about any experiences you have had dating someone who is a bit socially awkward. Do you think people with "beautiful minds" are underrated in the dating scene? What do you like about the characters on 'The Big Bang Theory' and how they interact with each other? How would you help their "game?"
In my 32 years I’ve dated a few guys, some were jocks, some were what I like to call “Billy Bad Asses”, some were Workaholics and a couple were even what one would consider socially awkward. Far be it for me to judge anyone based solely on their personality, but with that said the guys that I’ve dated who were more into computer games and Star Trek than they were into hanging out with friends and doing what most people would consider fun were just not for me. Now, I’m not dogging on geeks, truth be told I have the biggest crush ever on Jim Parsons character Sheldon Cooper on TBBT, I’m just saying that my experience dating guys who were a little geeky was just not the best. As much as I don’t have the desire to ever date a socially awkward guy again, you know because I’m married the THE Billy Bad Ass lol) I do think that they are definitely underrated in the dating scene for a couple of reasons. 1.) 9 times out of 10 guys who are a little socially awkward are also a little shy and unsure when it comes to the opposite sex, that means that they are almost always polite, well-mannered, and willing, ready, and able to pay for dinner and a movie. 2.) Socially awkward guys typically tend to let the woman lead in the relationship and we all know how much us ladies like to be in charge.
One of the biggest reasons that I like The Big Bang Theory is because of the characters; I have been a fan of Kaley Cuoco since her days as John Ritter’s daughter on “8 Simple Rules” I think that her character brings a different perspective to the show and her interaction with her cast mates make the show even more awesome! I also adore Jim Parson’s character Sheldon Cooper, it is alright to have a major crush on a sitcom character if you’re married—right? Seriously though, Sheldon makes me laugh and he’s so cute how could you not like him?!?! And while I love all of the character’s on TBBT my favorite is hands down, Johnny Galecki’s character Leonard Hofstadter. You guys totally remember Johnny from Roseanne—right?
How would I help the characters on TBBT with their “game”? Let’s see, first and foremost I would let the guys know that confidence goes a long way with a girl, if a girl thinks that you’re confident it’s a huge turn-on. I would also let the guys know that while geek may be chic right now, full-on nerd is not a good look, so relax with the nerdy talk and big words and they’d be surprised how much further they get with the opposite sex!
Alright y’all as always I want to know what you think—have you ever dated a socially awkward guy or girl, what was it like? What do you love about The Big Bang Theory? Who is your favorite character?
Do you love TBBT? Do you know someone who does? Well make sure you check out The Big Bang Theory Season 4 on DVD available here: http://bit.ly/oLtFCY!
