One of the best things about being a mom and a blogger ( in my opinion anyway) is having the opportunity to share the success of other moms and introduce y’all to some pretty cool momventions!  When I was approached by Lookie Lous to do a review of their glasses that double as headbands, I was excited to be able to share with all of you an invention by a very clever mom who was tired of picking up her daughter’s hair things constantly and decided to do something about it.
Kelly Coty, creator of Lookie Lous, is just like you. She is a busy mom from Generation X, always on the run and always picking up after her two daughters. While picking up headbands and hair ties after her daughters one day, she stumbled upon a million dollar idea. Kelly has created a pair of reading glasses that double as a headband. Now, she has one pair of glasses and always knows where they are.

The glasses come in a variety of colors and specializations which makes this product truly unlike any other. Below are a list of the different optician recommended choices for people:

  • Paris Pink for computer reading
  • New York Black for bright sun reading
  • Los Angeles Sand for light daylight reading
  • Nashville Green reduces eyestrain
  • Clear for classic readers
  • London Gray for light sun reading indoors or out

I had the chance recently to try Lookie Lous for myself and see what all the hype was about.  First and foremost I have to admit that I had a little help with this review from my BIL Travis (some of you may remember him from the crazy videos we used to make).  I was supposed to receive the Paris Pink Lookie Lous, but received the London Gray by mistake and I thought they looked better on him so I let him try them out.  I do want to mention that while I was super excited to try Lookie Lous, I was a little disappointed in how they fit (or didn’t fit rather) my face and head, I would say that my head is relatively normal size, but the glasses were entirely too big for my face as glasses and for my head as a headband.  While I didn’t have much luck with the glasses, they fit Travis’ face and head much better than they did my own and while I think he kind of looked a little like the terminator in them, he seemed to like them, only complaining that they were a little snug on his head (he has a relatively large head though so that could have something to do with it).  Though my own experience with Lookie Lous wasn’t the best it could have been (and I am honestly sad about  that because I so wanted to love them) I do think that the idea of glasses (that are designed for a variety of different people and eye problems) that double as headbands, is pure genius.  As a busy mom myself, I know how hard it is to keep up with “stuff” and the majority of the time it’s my “stuff” that I have the hardest time keeping up with, so the idea behind the glasses is just extremely smart.
