One of the best things about being a mom and a blogger ( in my opinion anyway) is having the opportunity to share the success of other moms and introduce y’all to some pretty cool momventions!  When I was approached by Lookie Lous to do a review of their glasses that double as headbands, I was excited to be able to share with all of you an invention by a very clever mom who was tired of picking up her daughter’s hair things constantly and decided to do something about it.
Kelly Coty, creator of Lookie Lous, is just like you. She is a busy mom from Generation X, always on the run and always picking up after her two daughters. While picking up headbands and hair ties after her daughters one day, she stumbled upon a million dollar idea. Kelly has created a pair of reading glasses that double as a headband. Now, she has one pair of glasses and always knows where they are.

The glasses come in a variety of colors and specializations which makes this product truly unlike any other. Below are a list of the different optician recommended choices for people:

  • Paris Pink for computer reading
  • New York Black for bright sun reading
  • Los Angeles Sand for light daylight reading
  • Nashville Green reduces eyestrain
  • Clear for classic readers
  • London Gray for light sun reading indoors or out
  •

I had the chance recently to try Lookie Lous for myself and see what all the hype was about.  First and foremost I have to admit that I had a little help with this review from my BIL Travis (some of you may remember him from the crazy videos we used to make).  I was supposed to receive the Paris Pink Lookie Lous, but received the London Gray by mistake and I thought they looked better on him so I let him try them out.  I do want to mention that while I was super excited to try Lookie Lous, I was a little disappointed in how they fit (or didn’t fit rather) my face and head, I would say that my head is relatively normal size, but the glasses were entirely too big for my face as glasses and for my head as a headband.  While I didn’t have much luck with the glasses, they fit Travis’ face and head much better than they did my own and while I think he kind of looked a little like the terminator in them, he seemed to like them, only complaining that they were a little snug on his head (he has a relatively large head though so that could have something to do with it).  Though my own experience with Lookie Lous wasn’t the best it could have been (and I am honestly sad about  that because I so wanted to love them) I do think that the idea of glasses (that are designed for a variety of different people and eye problems) that double as headbands, is pure genius.  As a busy mom myself, I know how hard it is to keep up with “stuff” and the majority of the time it’s my “stuff” that I have the hardest time keeping up with, so the idea behind the glasses is just extremely smart.

If you’re a busy mom (or dad) and you find yourself in a situation as Lookie Lous creator Kelly, then I definitely suggest you check out Lookie Lous and give them a try, who knows, they may be the one item you don’t ever have to worry about keeping up with because they’re always there!

Hey everyone thanks for stopping by!  It’s day 3 of Misadventures in Baby Raising’s Fun in the Sun blog party.  I hope you all had a chance to check out the day 1 and day 2 products and awesome giveaways!  Yesterday’s giveaway was strictly for the kids (and the young at heart) so I thought we’d make today’s giveaway for everyone!

One of my must-have items when the sun starts shining bright is a great pair of sunglasses.  If you’re like me any old sunglasses just will not do—you want them to be fun, fashionable, durable, and of course, affordable.  Now I know you’re thinking how can a great pair of sunglasses possibly be all of those things?  Well if you buy them at Sunglass Warehouse they most certainly can be.

Sunglass Warehouse was founded in 2002 and contends that they are more than just another sunglass retailer.  At Sunglass Warehouse you can find fashionable and affordable women’s, men’s, and children’s sunglasses in a wide variety of styles and colors! Not sure what sunglasses work best with your skin tone and face shape—Sunglass Warehouse can help you with that as well!  Sunglass Warehouse puts customer service first and their passion for sunglasses is evident to everyone who shops there.  Here are just a few of the reasons Sunglass Warehouse should be your sunglass retailer of choice!

*  Free shipping on all orders over $25!
*  365 Day Returns!
*  100% Money Back Guarantee!
*  UVA/UVB Protection on All Sunglasses!

I’m sure those are only a few of the many reasons why Sunglass Warehouse customers are consistently happy with their purchases.  Sunglass Warehouse also has a blog (a retailer after my own heart) full of great information on different sunglass types, copying celebrity looks for less (check out their most recent post:  Celeb Style:  Heidi Montag’s Round Sunglasses Style) and lots of other fashion items.

I received the SW Fashion Style #2623 (shown above) to review.  The large glasses have laser cut logo detailing alone each temple.  The oversize lenses provide UV400 protection to keep your eyes safe from UVA and UVB rays.  I love the large lenses, with smaller frames and lenses I notice myself squinting quite a bit to keep the sun out of my eyes, but that is not a problem with these oversized frames.  I also love the laser cute detail on the glasses, it is subtle yet makes a bold statement…exactly my kind of style.  Of course, there are many more cute sunglass styles to choose from, here are a few of my favorites!

Alright you guys I am so excited to finally say that the "Fun in the Sun" Blog Party is officially in full swing! Make sure you stop over at Running Away? I'll Help you Pack and check out her giveaway today!

When it starts to get warm outside my children have a list of essentials that they require for summer.
  1. A new beach towel.
  2. A new swimsuit.
  3. New Flip Flops (usually 3 or 4 pair).
  4. And finally new sunglasses!
Now this list is not optional it is required for optimal summer fun (at least that's the line my kids give me). Every single summer I scour the stores looking for the coolest summer essentials only to have my feelings hurt (especially by Savanna) when I'm told and I quote, "MOM what are these?" This summer I decided that I was going to find the trendiest, most awesome summer essentials ever and I started my quest looking for the perfect sunglasses to protect my picky ones eyes and I found the holy grail of eye wear...Julbo USA. Julbo USA offers glasses for all members of the family from Dad all the way to the smallest member!

Julbo USA is a 120-year-old company that has been at the forefront of the optical and action sports equipment field for years. With it's headquarters high in the Jura Mountains of France three generations have worked to ensure that their products more than meet the needs of action sports athletes big and small. Their glasses are stylish and comfortable while also offering some of the best UV protection around, what mom doesn't love that? Julbo USA has a large selection of stylish and comfortable glasses in a wide array of styles and colors.

We were given the chance to review a pair of Next sunglasses from Julbo USA. The glasses were perfect for my middle daughter Savanna (and she was instantly in love with the stylish little beauties as soon as she saw them). The Next design worked to envelope her eyes making the chance of dangerous UV damage far less, the glasses were also super comfortable and flexible (which is great if you have a child that is accident prone). Overall we loved the glasses; both the design and color were impeccable and my daughter knew that she was the most stylish 7 year old on the playground when she was sporting her Next sunglasses by Julbo USA.

Buy it! You can purchase Julbo USA sunglasses at Julbo's Website and at a variety of online retailers.

Win it! The amazing people at Julbo USA has offered not one, but 3 of my readers some of their amazing sunglasses! How incredible is that? One winner will receive the Kitty style, one winner will receive the Bowl style, and one will receive the Looping 1 style! Can you say awesome!
