If you've never watched 2 Broke Girls, let me clue you in...
2 BROKE GIRLS is a comedy about the unlikely friendship that develops between two very different young women who meet waitressing at a diner in trendy Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and form a bond over their dream of one day owning their own successful cupcake business. Only one thing stands in their way – they’re broke. Sarcastic, street-smart Max Black met the sophisticated, school-smart Caroline Channing when the uptown trust fund princess was having a run of bad luck due to her father’s Wall Street scandal, which caused her to lose all her money and forced her to give waitressing a shot. At first, Max sees Caroline as an entitled rich girl, but she’s surprised to find that Caroline has as much substance as she does style. When Caroline discovers Max’s knack for baking amazing cupcakes, she visualizes a lucrative future for them and they begin to save money to reach their start-up money goal of $250,000. As the girls’ cupcake tally expands week-to-week, they become closer to their goal and to each other. At the diner they are surrounded by their offbeat, colorful “work family”: Oleg, an overly flirtatious cook; Earl, a hip 75-year-old cashier; Han, the eager-to-please owner of the diner; and Sophie, the girls’ outrageous upstairs neighbor. As Max and Caroline climb toward their goal, we see that their “smarts” plus their “hearts” might just be the recipe for success.
I must admit, every time I watch the show, I'm reminded of my own "broke girl" days as a twenty-something (before kids of course) just trying to make ends meet. I remember one particularly genius "get rich quick" idea my friend L and I had while working as sandwich artists at Subway. One day while closing up shop for the night, L and I decided that we could make double the money we already made if we started a "side business" where we babysat when we weren't working our regular jobs; both of us had experience, both of us loved kids and two babysitters are much better than one...right? Yeah, well, let's just say that we were in business for exactly 24 hours before we decided that babysitting, wasn't where it's at. We accidentally booked a babysitting job for a time that both of us were working, which meant that our boyfriends (who weren't as mature or responsible as we were) had to take on the job for us, by the time we finished paying them for taking on our job, we had $20 less than when we started, so our babysitting business was no more and we were back to making sandwiches and dreaming big.
Looking back on that time now, I had to laugh because as silly as it was, it was also a lot of fun, those years were the only years in my adult life before I had kids when I could actually be silly, not worry too much about money, and just be a twenty year old...ahhh, the good old days. Maybe that's one of the reasons why I love Max and Caroline as much as I do, they in one way or another, remind me of me and my friends at that age, maybe with a little bit more business sense (just a tad), but still very much like us.
If you don't currently watch 2 Broke Girls, I definitely recommend it, it's so worth the watch and if you currently watch the show, remember that 2 Broke Girls has moved to a NEW TIME - Mondays at 8:30/7:30 c on CBS.

Some of you may remember the post I did a while back about our adorable new kitten Rockie, that was then and now, well let’s just say that Rockie would probably be a great fit for Animal Planet’s My Cat From Hell!
As soon as I saw the commercials for My Cat From Hell I knew that I just had to check it out. The show centers around cat behaviorist Johnny Galaxy helping cat owners to get a handle on their unruly cats and let’s just say that some of the cats on the show, definitely make my crazy cat look tame. I love that Johnny is not the slightest bit afraid of some of these devilish cats, every time Is see him go near one of the cats that look a little unstable I begin to question his sanity, but he always comes out on top so I have to give it to him!
I know that I could definitely stand to learn a thing a two from the show so I have my DVR set to record each new episode, Saturday’s at 8 PM on Animal Planet! If you have a crazy cat, I think you might want to check it out too!

If you’ve been following along lately, you probably know that I’ve been working with WB Word on The Big Bang Theory Season 4 on DVD campaign, well, we’re on the fourth and final week of the campaign and this week we’re talking all about friendships!
Until season 4, 'The Big Bang Theory' primarily focused on the core friendship of the guys with Penny as the lone girl. In Season 4, Penny gets some girlfriends with the introduction of Bernadette and Amy. Do you think that guys and girls can have standalone deep friendship or do girls need girl time and guys need time with the boys?
First and foremost can I just say, how freaking awesome is it that Mayim Bialik (perhaps best known for her role as Blossom on the TV show of the same name) joined the case of The Big Bang Theory? I LOVE her!
Now onto the question at hand…girl/guy friendships. Honestly, I have to be honest and admit that I have more good guy friends than girls. It has always seemed to be easier for me to be friends with guys than with other girls, that said though, I do have a handful of great girlfriends that I’ve been friends with most of my life.
To answer the question I think that girls and guys can absolutely have standalone deep friendships, some of my best friends in the world are guys, but I also think that girls definitely need girl time and guys definitely need guy time every now and then. There are just some things that no matter how close your friendships are with the opposite sex you would rather talk about with other girls or other guys. I know that I cherish the time I spend with all of my friends and while I do seem to have a better time when I’m hanging out with the guys, I wouldn’t trade girl time for anything!

Hey Gossip Girl fans—ready to jet off to Paris ala Blair and Serena? Alright so maybe jetting off anywhere is a little rich for most people’s blood (I know it’s way too rich for mine) but how much fun would it be to actually be able to globetrot and live in up like Blair and Serena did in Paris in Season 4 of Gossip Girl?
We might not all be able to head off to a foreign country when we feel the urge like Serena and Blair can, but we can conjure up our idea of a dream vacay…no? You guessed it, this week we’re talking all about dream vacations, inspired by Serena and Blair’s trip to Paris in Season 4’s Belles de Jour episode and I thought it would be fun to share with all of you what my dream vacation would be!
My dream vacation destination is Italy, not one particular place in Italy, the entire country; Rome, Florence, Tuscany, Milan and everywhere in between! I’ve wanted to travel to Italy for as long as I can remember, I’m not much on international traveling, but for Italy I’d definitely make an exception! Along with visiting all of the historical sites, the Sistine Chapel, the Trevi Fountain, St. Francis di Assisi, the Duomo of Milan, and of course the Coliseum I would just spend my days taking photos and wondering the old cobblestone streets that weave around the old cities like a serpents mound. Of course, one couldn’t go to Italy without partaking in the cuisine, and I can imagine that if I ever made it to Italy I would probably end up leaving several pounds heavier, from the fresh seafood to the classic Italian fare that Italy is known for, I couldn’t imagine any better food in the world. And who could visit Italy without doing a little shopping? I can almost feel the weight on my arms from all of the shopping bags from Versace, Armani, and Prada looking as fabulous and Blair and Serena did on their trip to Paris! Yes, I can honestly say that is my dream vacation—perfezione!
It’s your turn! Where’s your dream vacation destination? Where would you go and what would you do when you got there? And in the spirit of Gossip Girl, let’s just pretend that money is not a factor!
“Too busy for a summer vacation? Join Serena and Blair in Paris with Season 4 of Gossip Girl http://bit.ly/r4GTe8!"
