If there’s one thing every mommy on the face of this planet knows, it’s that if you give your kiddos some crayons and paper—they’ll quietly create masterpieces for hours!  image

It’s amazing to me how far even simple crayons and paper have come in the time since my oldest was little; children used to be content with a box of Crayola’s and a coloring book, but today they seem to be a little more interested in the latest app for their iPad or iPhone—and it’s kind of sad!

Thankfully my children are very fond of both and that’s why I was so eager to try the Crayola Story Studio and Crayola ColorStudio HD app and Crayola iMarker digital drawing tool for iPad!

I love providing my children with tools (be they good old fashion paper and crayons or a more high tech iPad app) to help inspire creativity and the Crayola Story Studio and Crayola ColorStudio HD app are the perfect tools to inspire that creativity!  If you’re looking for the perfect gift this holiday to inspire creativity in the littlest ones in your life then you should definitely check out these very cool new products from Crayola!

Crayola Color Studioimage

The kit includes paper, glossy cover sheets for printing comic book-style covers, binding strips and 15 Twistables® colored pencils to create three complete books.
  • For the child who loves fairytales and wonderment, Story Studio: Disney Princesses lets kids star in a fairytale with a Disney Princess. Crayola Story Studio™: Disney Princess lets kids create fairytales starring them and a Disney Princess! Kids upload a photo to transform themselves into a character, then create a story with their character and a Disney Princess! Story Studio includes everything kids need to create personalized storybooks and unlimited coloring pages – just print, color and bind the pages. They can choose storylines from Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, the Little Mermaid, Tangled, Sleeping Beauty, and Princess and the Frog. • For the child who likes creative adventures, the Story Studio Adventure Maker: Cars 2 lets kids join the pages of a story with Lightning McQueen, Mator and the Cars 2 characters form Disney Pixar. The set includes 10 Pip-Squeak Skinnies markers, 3 Pip Squeak broad line markers, 2 Pip-Squeak glitter glue tubes, 30 story sheets, 6 glossy cover sheets and 3 comic binding strips to make three complete story books.

And at only $9.99 each they make the perfect holiday gift for just about any child on your list!

Crayola ColorsStudio HD app

turn an iPad into an interactive coloring book using burnt sienna, carnation pink and a rainbow of Crayola colors from the Crayola digital 64 Box! The Crayola ColorStudio HD app and iMarker let kids’ imaginations run wild as they color moving, animated scenes that come alive with music, sound effects and hidden surprises. The app is free on iTunes App Store with the purchase of the iMarker for $29.99 at Toys R Us, Best Buy, the Apple Store and www.griffintechnology.com.

  • Kids can select from 64 colors in the digital Crayola 64 Box and then use the iMarker to create the look of Crayola crayons, markers, paints and colored pencils as the stylus interacts witimageh an iPad. The digital coloring pages respond with movement and sound as the pages come alive as kids color.
  • Animated images stop moving on the screen so kids can easily color them in without going outside of the lines, so objects look picture perfect when they start moving again. Tidy up your page with an eraser function or an “undo” arrow that removes larger areas of color.
  • In addition, kids can save their work in a gallery to be emailed, printed or uploaded to Facebook (mom’s account, and with her permission and help of course!), and also free draw, play interactive games and create their own customized coloring pages they can print and color off-line.

We received all of the Crayola products mentioned above to review (thanks to Crayola through MyBlogSpark) and my two littlest kiddos had a ball creating stories and coloring pictures where they starred as the main characters!  I have to admit—seeing how excited Lil’ Man and Lil’ Diva were to create a story they were the main character was a great feeling for this mommy!  You can check out more of the technology behind the Crayola ColorStudio HD app online at the Griffin Technology online store and make sure you check out Crayola’s Holiday Gift Guide for more great gift ideas from Crayola!

It’s Day 6 of our Fun in the Sun blog party and I wanted to take this opportunity to let you all know about 3 more sponsors that we recently added to the blog party!  All Terrain Co., DownEast Basics, and Mystic Tan will be joining in the fun this year…make sure you check back to see what awesome products these companies have to offer!
One of my favorite brands (ever) is Crayola; not only did they have a hand in my earliest creative moments, they’ve also been there for most of my children's.  From crayons and markers to chalk and my favorite invention ever Color Wonder, Crayola has just about everything a child could want to color, create, and have fun.
All of my children love to play with sidewalk chalk and it’s the one outdoor activity that I don’t mind them doing often.  So when I found out that I would be reviewing 2 awesome new Crayola Outdoor products I was very excited to see what cool new things Crayola had to offer.  Crayola sent me their new Washable Sidewalk Chalk Maker and the Crayola Spira-Chalk Blaster to review and I must admit we had so much fun playing with them…yes mommy played too.  Here’s a little more about both of the products:
image
Crayola Washable Sidewalk Chalk Maker Deluxe:  Create your own sidewalk chalk in just a few simple steps.  Add water, shake, pour into the molds, let dry, and viola you have just made your very own sidewalk chalk.
My kids had a blast with this one!  While it was a bit messy, they loved getting creative and mixing different colors.  Honestly I think they had as much fun making the chalk as they did drawing with it.

Play till your heart’s content!
Crayola Spira-Chalk Blaster:  Kind of like spin art, but with chalk.  The Spira-Chalk Blaster is a kid powered chalk tool that lets children create large, spiral masterpieces that are truly unique each time.
My kiddos LOVED this one as well.  Unfortunately my camera decided to malfunction and I lost all of the pictures I took of this item, but I assure you they loved it!  The babies had a blast chasing the blaster around the sidewalk and my oldest girls spent hours trying to see how many different designs they could come up with.

Guess what?  Crayola is giving one Misadventures in Baby Raising reader both the Crayola Washable Sidewalk Chalk Maker Deluxe and the Crayola Spira-Chalk Blaster.

So it's Day 11 of our Fun in the Sun summer blog party and I know I told y'all that there were only 11 days but I have a surprise....wait for it...we have one more awesome giveaway tomorrow so make sure you come back and check it out!

One of the things I hear over and over again from my kids in the summer (and all the rest of the year for that matter) is how bored they are. It is a never ending battle to amuse them and sometimes the task seems so daunting that I have no clue what to do about it. I learned very early on when I was still a fairly new mom that crayons, paper, and chalk will solve any argument, resolve any meltdown, and ease a big old case of boredom...needless to say Crayola products became a staple in my house years ago! And this summer Crayola is on a mission to get kids to get up and playing with their Crayola Outdoor Challenge!

With all of the technology our children are exposed to every day it's not always easy to get them excited about exercise and physical activity, but Crayola wants to help get children and families excited about getting outside and exercising their bodies and minds. With the help of Olympic Gold Medalist Dan O'Brien Crayola introduces their Outdoor Challenge! Crayola has added new and exciting products to their already rockin outdoor product line in an effort to get kids excited about outdoor play! We all know and love Crayola for their amazing products and affordable prices and this line is no exception, the new products include:

  • Sidewalk Crayons offer kids more than pretty pastels to create outdoor masterpieces. Once reserved for bringing coloring books to life, this new technology offers the richest, brightest, boldest colors for creating extraordinary outdoor artwork. The difference is striking, as the smooth, creamy colors lay down on driveways and sidewalks with unmatched brightness. For children 4 and up, suggested retail price is $4.99 for a set of 15 colors.

  • The Rainbow Rake is a fun new way to create chalk messages and designs! Kids can adjust the arms for close lines or far-apart lines; use the rake to write giant messages and draw swirling, swooping lines! For children 4 and up, suggested retail price is $11.99 for one rake and 5 pieces of chalk.

  • Kids can watch their art come to life with the 3D Jungle Safari Activity Set. Create a jungle safari, put on the 3D glasses and kids will feel like they are in the jungle! The set includes 1 bottle of sidewalk paint (7 fl. oz.), a paint brush, 1 pair of 3D glasses, 8 dual-ended sidewalk chalk sticks, 4 giant stencils and 1 how-to book. For children 6 and up, the suggested retail price is $13.99.
We received all three of the products above to review and needless to say my children spent hours playing with them...mommy even got in on the act!
So now comes the exciting part...are you ready? Alright so the great people at Crayola are offering one of my Misadventurous readers/followers/friends a Crayola Outdoor Activity Set of their own...the products included are the Sidewalk Crayons, Rainbow Rake, and the 3D Jungle Safari Activity Set!

Win it!!! To be entered into this giveaway go to the Crayola website and check out the Outdoor Challenge then come back here and leave a comment telling me which outdoor product or activity you would like to do! This is mandatory and must be completed before any extra entries count!
