We’re in the home stretch with our back-to-school blowout—if you’ve missed the other fabulous products (and even more fabulous giveaways) make sure you check them out. I’m a self proclaimed pen fanatic. Call me crazy, but there’s just something about buying a new pen that writes perfectly that makes me extremely happy every time I put pen to paper. One of my very favorite brands of writing equipment is and always has been BIC; BIC pens are affordable, reliable, and they are constantly coming up with new and exciting ways to make writing fun! Our back-to-school blowout definitely wouldn’t be complete without including BIC and they didn’t disappoint. BIC sent me some of the products from their 2013 back-to-school lineup and I can’t wait to tell you all about them (and maybe offer one of y’all the chance to win ALL of them—keeping reading).
This year’s list of must-haves for back-to-school includes the BIC Tech 2-in-1 Stylus and Pen. BIC Automatics Mechanical Pencils, BIC for Her Gel Marker Pens, BIC Brite Liner Highlighter Tape, BIC Round Stic Grip pen, BIC Round Stic Grip Fashion ink pens and BIC Z4+ Roller refresh. BIC says that there’s “something for every student in this year’s back-to-school lineup, from fashion forward BIC for Her to the innovative BIC Mechanical Pencil and BIC Tech 2-in-1 Stylus. The style and reliability of our products means that students can take on any assignment with confidence, and parents will appreciate the value that BIC provides.”
BIC Back-to-School Must Haves 2013
BIC Tech 2-in-1 Stylus and Pen: The BIC Tech Stylus and Pen features a lightweight stylus on one end and a retractable ballpoint pen on the other. The Stylus and Pen makes it possible to move from the tablet or smartphone to paper with ease and without having to search for two different instruments—I love the convenience of it! My oldest daughter has been using the BIC Tech 2-in-1 Stylus and Pen on her tablet, she says that she loves how easily the stylus allows her to accurately complete her work in record time.
BIC Automatic Mechanical Pencil: The BIC Automatic Mechanical Pencil makes it easy to retract and protect lead with just one click at the top of the barrel. I’m a big mechanical pencil user (traditional pencils seem to make my carpal tunnel flare up quite a bit) but I hate constantly breaking the lead and clicking the eraser for what seems like hours to produce lead…this pencil is quite possibly the best I’ve used—it’s seriously awesome and if you haven’t used it you NEED to run out and pick some up!
BIC for Her Gel and Marker Pens: For beautifully smooth writing that will pass any test!
BIC Brite Liner Highlighter Tape: Re-inventing the way we look at highlighters! This fluorescent tape adds vibrant highlights without bleeding through—um, awesome and it’s available in pink and yellow.
BIC Round Stic Grip: An old favorite among students, teachers and parents, this old standby gets a new look and is now offered in a variety of fun, funky, vibrant colors (pink, purple, turquoise, and lime green). The BIC Round Stic grip is perfect for everyday writing and is available in both fine and medium points for around $2 for an 8 pack—now that’s a deal!
BIC Z4+ Roller: The Z4 also has a bold new look and is now offered in black, blue and assorted inks. It’s neon ink colors make every writing assignment fun and funky and these pens provide an amazingly smooth writing experience—they are my favorite of all of the must-haves!

If you’ve been a MIBR reader for a while then there’s a good chance that you know all about my love affair with writing utensils. Given my love for pens and pencils I couldn’t possibly do a back-to-school event without including one of my very stationery brands—BIC!

I had the chance recently to try out several BIC stationery products as part of our back-to-school event and I can’t wait (seriously I could talk about pens and pencils all day) to tell you all about the latest products from BIC for back-to-school—there may even be a giveaway in it for you!
First up is the latest product from the 4-Color family of pens from BIC—the BIC 4-Color Grip Ball Pen.

My thoughts: I am a big fan of BIC’s 4-Color line of pens and this one did not disappoint! The 4-Color Grip has the variety that you want from the 4-Color line with the look of a slightly more sophisticated pen—which makes it great for teachers! I love that the pen writes beautifully in all 4 colors and that the grip makes the pen ultra comfortable to hold, even for someone like me who has severe carpal tunnel!
Next up we have my girl’s favorite the BIC Impressions Pencils.
This new mechanical pencil contains 200% more lead per pencil than the competition. With its mini size and four different eye-catching barrel designs, the BIC Impressions Pencil is certain to appeal to students (of all ages). Each pencil has three strong 0.7 mm number two leads and a smudge free eraser.
The BIC Impressions Pencils are available in a 28-count package with a suggest retail of $9.99.
My thoughts: The BIC Impressions Pencils are “so freaking cute” at least according to my 12 year old. I love that they are smaller than the traditional lead pencil (and much more stylish) but boast more lead that their competitors—way to go BIC!
One item that’s sure to be on every school supply list is glue sticks and BIC has an ecofriendly version that you have to check out—BIC Ecolutions Glue Stick.
Perfect for school projects, BIC Ecolutions Glue sticks are a back-to-school staple that parents and kids can feel good about! In fact, the glue stick’s dispenser is made from 100% recycled plastics!
The BIC Ecolutions glue stick is washable for easy clean-up and is available in an eight-gram size for a suggested retail price of $1.56.
My thoughts: Glue sticks are a necessity when you have kids in the house and the BIC Ecolutions glue stick has quickly become one of my favorites!

we can all have a pen made just for us!
Going back to school for many girls means that they will be thinking about what clothing, accessories and school supplies they need to get the year off to a great start! One item that these students will certainly have on their list is the stylish, retractable BIC for Her ball pen!

My favorite of all of the BIC products that I received to review is undoubtedly the BIC Velocity Bold (aka "Smoothest Pen in the Universe”)!
The BIC Velocity Bold features exclusive Easy-Glide System ink technology, which delivers a smooth writing experience, and has a 1.6 mm point for a vivid line, and a soft grip that provides long-lasting comfort while writing.
The BIC Velocity Bold is available in black and blue inks and has a suggested retail price of $2.79 for a 2-pack.
My thoughts: I love this pen! Once you experience this pen you will not want another! I love how vivid the lines are and how smoothly this pen writes and I think you will too!
