It’s quite possible that I’m the proudest momma on the plane right now—why you ask? Well, my 9 year old daughter Savanna ran her very first 5K this morning with 50 other people (men, women and children) and came in 8th overall (overall people, that’s insane), 1st in her age group and FIRST in the female runner category (THAT MEANS SHE BEAT EVERY SINGLE FEMALE IN THE RACE)!!!!
I cannot even begin to explain how proud I am of my daughter right now! I always knew she had a gift for running and I never doubted her for a second, but to beat every single female runner in the race that’s just beyond impressive!!!!! She even had Ohio Congresswoman Jean Schmidt come up to her afterward, shake her hand and tell her that she was going to remember Savanna’s face because one of these days she was going to be on TV in the Olympics!!! I’d be a total liar if I said I didn’t cry, because I did—my daughter is amazing and she makes me more proud each and every day…I love you Baby…CONGRATS!
Y’all should remember this face—cause one day she’s going win a Gold Medal in the Olympics and you can say you knew her way back when!
Gold Medal for 1st Place Overall Female Runner!!!
WOW! What a phenomenal accomplishment!!
ReplyDeleteSavanna, you are a C H A M P in every sense of that word and even though I am someone you don't know I wanted to offer you my sincerest congratulations and let you know you are an inspiration. Along with your Mom, I am very proud of you too!

ReplyDeleteWay to Go!!!! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Congrats to her! I know the proud feeling; my 13 year old son started participating in 5k runs over the summer and he received three medals. It made my heart swell with pride, like I'm sure yours did.
