Now as shopping for new crib mattresses was not high on my list of things to do yesterday I was NOT pleased to have to change my plans and add shopping to them. Alright normally I am psyched about shopping, but I was not at all happy about the circumstances surrounding this shopping trip. I decided to forgo an actual trip to the store, it was COLD here yesterday and I did not want to leave the house if I didn’t have to. Thank goodness for online shopping, not only was I able to do a search for the best crib mattresses, I was also able to compare brands and prices side by side with just a few clicks on the mouse…talk about convenience.
After hours of searching, comparing, and weighing the pros and cons I had finally decided on a mattress that I liked, could afford, and was nearly Lil Dia proof when my husband called. When I explained to him what I was doing he started laughing and said, “Um honey, we have a brand new mattress downstairs in storage.” Wha-huh- was all I could manage to get out. So after it turned out that all of the time I spent finding the perfect crib mattress was un vain and I was NOT happy about that!
So, Lil Diva has a new crib mattress, which she is only allowed to sleep on, and I can breathe a sigh of relief. I wonder if I can just take the money I “saved” on buying a new mattress and but myself a new pair of shoes…hmm better not ask hubby, I’m sure we have several pair in storage!

Wow where to begin…hmmm let’s start with the #1 source of my stress at the moment—school. I never dreamed when I enrolled at N.K.U. that I would be in over my head, I’m a pro at college after all, or so I thought. I can’t even begin to tell you how much different a big university is compared to the small community college I used to attend. The professors are harder, the courses are harder, and the grades are harder to keep on point…I am doing well, but it is definitely a struggle to keep it up! One of the classes giving me the biggest headache at the moment is my Small Group Communications class…the professor has it out for me I’m just convinced that he does…he refuses to give me a grade higher than a B and I am NOT happy about that. But I suppose that just like anything else worth having in life a college degree is not going to come easily…and I am trying to make myself understand that one B at a time!
Another area of stress in my life at the moment is my children, it seems like the more stressed out I get the more they refuse to listen. My oldest daughter’s seem to have went straight from preschoolers to teenagers, completely skipping the years where they are supposed to listen and do what they are told. Instead of listening my daughters give me 125 reasons why they shouldn’t do this or why they need to do that and it is starting to rub me the wrong way. I am notorious for NOT following through with punishment and I know that needs to change, it is yet another thing I need to work harder at in the coming months.
My youngest children seem to have minds of their own as well and those minds seem to be in complete agreement that Mommy is the enemy and she must be taken out at all costs. Between the constant running, screaming, mess making, and tantrums and the fact that they NEVER take naps but somehow manage to stay up till 1 am (or often later) is turning me into one cranky, pissed off, Zombie Mommy! I have tried every trick in the book when it comes to discipline for my youngest; the ones that worked on my oldest daughters, the ones that never worked on my oldest daughters, and the ones that everyone and their mother want to suggest when I mention my two hellions, I mean angels, and NOTHING works. Some days I feel like I am fighting a losing battle, some days I want to crawl into my bed and hide from the world, but I don’t and I will not stop my quest for world domination, I mean finding a way to discipline my unruly kiddos.
That brings us to my bliggity blog…you liked that huh. I feel like Misadventures is coming into its own (and I have all of you to think for that) but it is also becoming much harder to balance life, school, demons (I mean kiddos), and my blog equally so if you notice I never post of weekends that would be why. Hopefully I will figure it all out soon enough, or not as the case will most certainly be, but I guess I have a lifetime to work on that!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of PlayStation MOVE. All opinions are 100% mine.
Spending quality time together as a family is very important to me, but with our hectic schedules we’re lucky if that family time happens more often than once a week. Since our family time together is limited we always try to make the most of the time that we do have. When we do have down time most of us break apart and do our own thing, but I think that would definitely change if we added the PlayStation Move to our arsenal.
I could definitely see us starting a weekly Family Game Night if we had the PlayStation Move and I even know what the most requested games would be; LittleBigPlanet 2 and DanceDanceRevolution…LBP is one of our favorites! Not only would the PlayStation Move bring about some much needed family bonding, it would also be a great way to get the kids up and active while they play! More than anything I just think it would be awesome to see all 6 of us doing something fun together as a family, because that’s really what it’s all about!
The PlayStation Move definitely has a place high on my kids Wish List this Christmas and with the Move bundle package I can bring motion gaming to our existing PS3 for only $99…it doesn’t get much better than that!

Every Halloween as I lead my children through the neighborhood from house to house Trick-or-Treating I am struck by the fact that there are so many older children joining in on the festivities. My oldest is 11 and I know that soon we will have to have that dreaded talk, no not the one about the birds and the bees, the one where I tell her,”Honey, you’re too old to go Trick-or-Treating this year!” Now I dread this talk just about more than any I will ever have to have with her, Trick-or-Treating is the one chance all year for children everywhere to get dressed up and run amuck around town while begging for free candy…could any parent dare take that away?
Surely there is a consensus among parents about the cut-off age for Trick-or-Treating, or is there? Everyone I’ve talked to seems to either be dead set in their belief that once a teenager you are done with trick-or-treating, or not sure at all. I tend to agree that after the age of 12 it’s probably better (and much more mature) to stay home and pass out candy come Halloween night. I’m sure my oldest daughter will not want to hear my thoughts on this one, but I know that next year will be her last trick-or-treating experience.
So what do you think? Do you think children should stop trick-or-treating after a certain age?
Every year about this time I start building my Christmas list, most people on my list are easy to buy for; my mom—easy peasy, the kids—if it has a charger or lots of pieces they are in heaven, my husband—not so much! Each year that passes it becomes that much harder to buy for him, I press him for gift ideas and I get nothing, I hint around at things I would like hoping he’ll get the drift and mention a few of his own…no such luck!
So this year I have compiled a list of things that my husband most certainly does not have and would never think to ask for…so what do you think?
Tandem Skydiving…he’s always said I make him want to go jump out of a plane!
Or maybe a flight aboard a Jet fighter…Top Gun anyone?
No, no, no wait I’ve got it!
A long weekend getaway in a rental Ferrari…now that HAS to qualify as an awesome present…right?
Please tell me I am not the only poor wife out there that has this much trouble finding suitable Christmas gifts for her husband! I mean it seriously cannot be this hard trying to find the perfect gift for the man in your life…can it? You know, judging by the big list list of ZERO ideas I have this year, that Ferrari is looking pretty good!

Yum Yum Dishes are small bowls designed to help you limit your snacking to an acceptable level. Since my family seems to think portion control means whatever you can fit on your plate…I’d say we could definitely benefit from Yum Yum Dishes. Here’s a little more about Yum Yum Dishes from their website:
After my second child was born I realized I was snacking too much. I'd drag a bag of chips off the shelf and head for the couch. Before I knew it, half the bag was gone.
The fact is, I didn't realize how much I was eating. I decided to do something about it.
I started using a small dish for snacking. As long as I didn't re-fill the bowl, I could never over-snack! In a short time, I was back to my original weight. I thought others might like to try out this simple method of portion control. The Yum Yum Dish was born, a 4 oz. dish that's fun and easy to understand.
The Yum Yum Dish is perfect for children, teens, and adults who want to enjoy all their favorite foods in moderation. Not concerned with portion control? Use these hand-painted dishes for sauces, dips, entertaining, and more.
A Yum Yum dish is a creative gift for the foodie in your life and a smart addition to any weight loss plan.
I have to admit it is a fabulous way to help you stay on track with your diet routine, and Yum Yum Dishes are also great for limiting your kids to the right amount of snacks! I have to admit that late nights as I’m working on reviews or homework is the worst time for me because I want to snack constantly, that has caused some weight gain that I do not like. Reluctantly I decided to try the Yum Yum Dish as a way to control my snack portions at night and I’ve found myself not only sticking to the amount of snack in the dish, but feeling much better about my snacking habits in the process. Make sure you check out Yum Yum Dishes website and all of their killer snack ideas…Chocolate Yum Yum Pie anyone? (Yummy)
If you’re looking for a gift for the health conscious on your holiday list…Yum Yum Dishes are sure to be a hit!
You can find Yum Yum Dishes and so many more great holiday gift ideas in our 2010 Holiday Gift Guide!
With Christmas right around the corner (8 weeks to be exact) I am feverishly compiling my list of must-haves for the family! There are so many things to consider, but one thing I know for sure is that I will be shopping online a lot this Christmas. I have found so many awesome places to shop online and one of my favorites is Manhattan Toy!
Here’s a little bit about Manhattan Toy from their website:
Manhattan Toy is a store that inspires imagination at play! Founded in 1979 (good year) by Francis Goldwyn (grandson of motion picture studio owner Sam Goldwyn), Manhattan Toy pioneered the use of non-traditional fabrics in toy design and introduced delightful new body styles in soft toys. Although Goldwyn is no longer involved in the ownership of Manhattan Toy, we remain true to his vision of marching to the beat of a different (toy) drum.
Play is not only fun, it’s essential to a child’s cognitive, emotional, and social development. Our design process blends science and whimsy to produce toys that offer children a rich array of visual and tactile stimulation and unlimited opportunities for imaginative exploration.
Manhattan Toy is committed to bringing parents and kids quality toys that are not only fun, but educational and meant to inspire creativity. Is your son or daughter an Automoblox fan (I know mine are) you can find all of the Automoblox toys at Manhattan Toy. Maybe you have a daughter who loves Groovy Girls…well, you can find them at Manhattan Toy as well, along with many other fabulous brands!
We received a Baby Stella and an Automoblox mini set for our review. First off I must say that the quality of these toys is top notch…I was beyond impressed with the toys straight away. Baby Stella reminds me of a doll I used to have when was little, but much more modern and so much more well made. Stella is so cuddly and soft that any little girl would be just fall in love with her instantly. I also love that her paci is magnetized, and don’t even get me started on her cute little toes (that look so much like a babies it’s unreal). The moment my Lil Diva saw Baby Stella she was instantly in love!
We also received an Automoblox mini set from Manhattan Toy. Lil Man loves cars, as a matter of fact, he has already requested that we tell Santa to bring lots of cars and trucks. Automoblox minis consist of “future-retro” styling that makes them unique and oh-so-very stylish! “Boasting a universal connector system that enables the rapid interchange of parts, and conveniently sized for on-the-go car designers, Automoblox Minis put a unique spin on creative play. Automoblox has won numerous prestigious awards for this ingeniously designed line of cars.” I have to say that I love the sleek designs and unique look of the Automoblox cars, my son was amazed at the car and had a blast pretending to be a race car driver.
Manhattan Toy has amazing brands and fabulous toys, but what puts them head and shoulders above the rest is their commitment to inspiring creativity in children. Within minutes of playing with the Baby Stella and the Automoblox car my son and daughter where imagining and pretending, for a mom, there’s nothing better than seeing your babies learn to be creative, and Manhattan Toy makes that happen!
Both Baby Stella and the Automoblox made great holiday gifts, so make sure you head on over to Manhattan toy and check out the selection! Don’t forget to have a look at our Holiday Gift Guide chock full of awesome holiday gift ideas!

One small step for Wubbzy…one giant leap for Wuzzleburg! The countdown to fun for preschoolers begins with Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!, and the launch of the brand-new DVD, “Fly Us To The Moon.” Alongside Wubbzy, Widget, Walden and Daizy, young viewers will skyrocket into outer space to help wake The Man in the Moon, prepare for a special encounter with “alien” visitors and embark on many kooky space-age adventures! “Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! Fly Us To The Moon” from Anchor Bay Entertainment lands on shelves across the nation, Tuesday, November 16, 2010.
“We are thrilled to release the latest Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! DVD, ‘Fly Us To The Moon,’ to the whole universe of Wubbzy fans from coast-to-coast,” said Erin Carter, Executive Director of Brand Marketing for Anchor Bay Entertainment. “These high-flying episodes help preschoolers learn about the wonders of space the ‘Wubbzy’ way – complete with quirky characters, silly sights and light-year’s of laughs all along the way!”
“Fly Us To The Moon” (SRP $16.98) is an action-packed collection of episodes featuring out-of-this-world special guests, including the Tooth Fairy, and larger-than-life superheroes like Captain Wonderpants and The Super Fixers. In “Warp Speed Wubbzy!,” Walden thinks he sees an approaching spaceship through his telescope and enthusiastically spreads the word that space visitors are coming! But, when Wubbzy and Widget discover that the “spaceship” is just a firefly on the lens, they fear Walden will be disappointed and decide to create their own “spaceship landing.” In the title episode, “Fly Us To The Moon,” it’s up to Wubbzy and his pals to wake up The Man in the Moon, who has fallen asleep and left Wuzzleburg in the dark. Preschoolers will embark on an unforgettable ride on Widget’s Rocket Racer, as Wubbzy tangles with space monsters, takes a journey on a runaway comet and falls into a spiral galaxy!
In addition, the new release includes episodes “Tooth or Dare,” “Wonder Wubbzy” and “The Super Fixers.” A bonus episode, “All Bottled Up,” as well as special extras such as coloring and activity sheets, music videos and special “sneak peeks” also are featured.
Now how would you like to win a copy of Wow Wow Wubbzy’s “Fly Us To The Moon” for your little space explorer? Well, I just so happen to have a DVD to give away to one of my lucky readers!

Last fall I was introduced to a company who took my views on maternity clothes and turned them upside down! Isabella Oliver Maternity is a clothing company that believes that maternity clothes should look good and be comfortable. Not only does Isabella Oliver do maternity clothes (loved by many celebrity moms!) they also have Isabella Oliver 365 which comes from the same philosophy - stylish, modern classics that look and feel great. If you’re looking for a great top, dress, or jacket you have to check out Isabella Oliver!
Here’s a little more about Isabella Oliver Maternity and Isabella Oliver 365 from there website:
When we first started Isabella Oliver, it was because we couldn't find any pregnancy clothes that we liked to wear. So, in 2003 we launched our first maternity collection, a collection of beautifully-cut maternity clothes made from the best fabrics which not only look good, but are also very comfortable too. Fast forward to the present and we are dressing pregnant women around the world, have been awarded the Queen's Award, and our maternity signature detailing (wrapping and ruching)has become a standard for every pregnant woman's wardrobe.
Together with Geoff (my husband and co-founder) and our team, Isabella Oliver has been a labour of love and a real team effort from everybody here. We are very proud to have achieved what we have, but the truth is that we never stand still andare always asking for the thoughts and reactions of our customers, like you.
Isabella Oliver 365 is born out of our first venture, Isabella Oliver Maternity, which we launched in 2003 to give pregnant women a place where they could find stylish and well-cut clothes that look and feel great. Over the years our customers, friends and family were asking us why we weren't applying the same design approach of creating stylish, well-designed pieces in easy-care fabrics to clothes for women who weren't pregnant. We agreed and in 2008 launched Isabella Oliver 365.
The 365 collection is based on enduring classics with a modern twist. Clothes that you can throw on and know you'll always look and feel great in; pieces that you can come back to day after day, year after year. Clothes that are made of the best, beautiful-to-the-touch fabrics. Isabella Oliver is a modern collection to suit women's needs all day, everyday.
As I mentioned above I fell in love with Isabella Oliver’s designs from the first moment…they are timeless, elegant, comfortable, and absolutely beautiful. Of course, I am not pregnant, but as I mentioned above Isabella Oliver caters to both mommy’s to be and us mommy’s who have already delivered. I recently had the opportunity to do another review for Isabella Oliver for our Holiday Gift Guide, I received the Billow 2-in-1 top to review. The Billow 2-in-1 is a top with an attitude…you can wear it as is (with collar and cuffs) or remove them for a completely different look! I must admit I am in love with this top…it’s versatile, stylish, and it looks great on! Of course, I also have my eye on a few other lovely pieces at Isabella Oliver…I must bookmark and send to hubby!
If you’re looking for a great maternity wardrobe or even if you just want a new fall coat…you have to check out Isabella Oliver! Make sure you check out our Holiday Gift Guide featuring Isabella Oliver and so many more great holiday gift ideas!

You may remember my post several months back about Macy’s IMPULSE spring styles, well make room in your closets ladies because Macy’s IMPULSE fall styles are here! I am a huge fan of Macy’s no matter what my budget, I can always find a ton of affordable, cutting edge styles just perfect for my wardrobe.
Here’s a little more about Macy’s IMPULSE Fall styles:
Searching for the hottest styles for Fall? Look no further than the Macy’s IMPULSE department. Each season, IMPULSE does the legwork for you by publishing its highly anticipated HOT LIST. Essentially a cheat sheet of the season’s must-have looks, it features many of today’s top labels, including 7 For All Mankind, Miss Me, Sugar Lips and more.
The focus this season: eye-catching details. Think Shimmery Dresses and Embellished Tees. Also girly (but slightly less glitzy) Lace Details and Draped Camis that add a hint of attitude to your everyday outfit. To nail both trends, try wearing a lace-trimmed cardigan over a flowy, floral camisole.
Even when it comes to basics, it’s the little things that count. Update your go-to pieces with a pair of the latest super Slim Jeans. Pair them with an Oversized Knit Hoodie for a laid-back yet sophisticated look.
There are so many pieces from the fall collection that I adore I don’t even know where to start, hmm let’s see…this blouse—I will own that…gorgeous!
And this bootie…is to die! I have been all about boots for a while now, but it is definitely the time for a cute, fun, and fashionable boot!
And being the causal kinda girl that I am I couldn’t forget about a great pair of jeans! Or maybe this killer hoodie…so many choices…so little time!
And the looks mentioned above are just the tip of the iceberg…the IMPULSE department at Macy’s has What’s Hot for fall 2010 so make sure you check it out! And while you’re there pick up a few Macy’s gift cards…they make great holiday gifts for everyone on your list!

Back this past summer I was introduced to a company that has been one of my favorites ever since…Miraclebody! Miraclebody is a collection of jeans, tops, and other control accessories from the makers of Miraclesuit (#1 brand of fashion control swimwear). Miraclebody promises to help make you look “10 pounds lighter in 10 seconds”, but can such a claim be backed up…in a word…yes! I must admit I was among the non-believers when I first discovered Miraclesuit, but literally within seconds of putting on the suit I was converted to one of the enlightened ones. Needless to say, I was very happy when I found out that Miraclebody also made jeans…hello a pair of jeans that fit, look amazing, and make you look and feel slimmer…I was in heaven.
Here’s a little more about the Miracle that is Miraclebody from their website:
Since 1937, the makers of Miraclesuit®, the #1 brand designer of control swimwear, have made women look more beautiful and shapely. Miraclebody follows the heritage of Miraclesuit by providing women of all shapes and sizes with comfortable form-flattering fashion control apparel including jeans, tops, skirts, and leggings — all designed to make you look 10lbs lighter in 10 seconds.
At the heart of the Miraclebody brand, is our premium Lycra denim which slims the thighs and lifts the rear while giving you a comfortable fit. Our handcrafted front control panel features our unique miracle fabric, Miratex, to flatten and control the tummy. Miraclebody signature logo rivets and buttons along with our embroidered signature waistband add the finishing touch. Our premium denim jeans are available in several washes, from faded blue for a casual look to sleek black for a dressier look. Our Miraclebody premium denim gives every women and every body a shapely flawless figure with comfort and style.
Generations of women have fallen in love with Miraclesuit for helping them look beautiful and feel confident about their bodies. And now women of all shapes and sizes are falling in love with Miraclebody.
When I started compiling my list of gift ideas for this holiday season I knew I wanted to incorporate Miraclebody as I feel they are the ultimate in fashion for women; they look fabulous (truly), fit amazingly, and make you feel good…it doesn't get better than that! I was sent a pair of Skinnie Minnie jeans from Miraclebody for my review. With skinny jeans everywhere I turn I figured I might as well join the ranks and don a pair myself. Of course, traditional skinny jeans are a big no-no for me because they are made for super-skinny people and I am no longer a member of that team, but Miraclebody’s Skinnie Minnie jeans are perfect! The Skinnie Minnie jeans are made of premium denim and made to “sculpt, mold, and conceal” and include a tummy control panel (made from luxury soft cotton mixed with a touch of spandex). The Skinnie Minnie jean also gives a nice little lift to your bottom while at the same time slimming your thighs and making your legs appear longer. Some of the features that make the Skinnie Minnie so fabulous are:
It’s no secret to anyone who knows me that I wear shapewear daily, I do it because it makes me feel better about the way I look and it makes the clothes I wear look better on, but with the Skinnie Minnie jeans I don’t have to wear my shapewear because the jeans do all the work. The moment I slipped into these jeans I knew I had found my new favorite pair! If you’re looking for a great pair of jeans that fit, feel, and look incredible I definitely recommend Miraclebody! AND since Miraclebody is so confident in their jeans they are giving everyone FREE shipping and FREE returns…talk about risk free!
So how would you like to have a pair of Miraclebody jeans? Well the fabulous people at Miraclebody are giving one oh-so-very-lucky MIBR reader a pair of Miraclebody jeans of her own!
