You know I consider myself a pretty laid back person, I go with the flow, I let (most) things slide off my back, and I don’t like drama (no matter what ANYONE may think..lol). BUT when spammers come to my blog with their stupid ass comments trying (which is a big old waste of your time buddy) to get me to inadvertently post a comment FULL of links to THEIR site (that isn’t even relevant to my site) I take offense.
The first few times I let it go, deleted the comments and had a chuckle at the lengths these scumbags go to, to promote their shitty sites, but when I go in to moderate my comments and I see several spam comments I get plum PISSED OFF! Now we can do this one of two ways, take your pick:
- You can stop leaving spam on my blog, I’ll go back to moderating my comments sans your spam and all will be right with the world! OR
- I will start a Douche Bag of the week post (and give you above the fold exposure) without linking to your site.
Now I know some of you are thinking, “Um spammers don’t give a shit about exposure that is what they want!”, and you would be right. BUT I will expose the companies (without links of course) that are allowing this spam to take place…eventually they may (or more then likely may not) get the hint. Either way it makes for a funny blog post!
Your a rockstar!
ReplyDeleteGo get em! I don't see a lot of spam on my blog but I do get annoying ones that don't even have names just aq bunch of letters all jumbled. Idiots.
ReplyDeleteI just press delete and let it go. It does get quite aggravating though.
ReplyDeleteMost spam is completely automated so that makes it even worse. Not only are they flooding you with spam but they aren't even giving you the common courtesy of reading what they're spamming! :)
ReplyDeleteoooh oooh do the Douche Bag thing!!!! I agree!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks y'all!
ReplyDeleteI'm aware the spammers don't even read the crap they spread most of the time, and it sucks for us review bloggers who have many, many giveaway comments to sort through each day.
I was just a little fed up and needed to vent that frustration...:)!
Good for you. I just ban the IP address even though the same spammer may have more than one address. Plus I have a real good spam catcher set to go into spam mode if comment contains more than one link.
ReplyDeleteQuite frankly, I think you should do
ReplyDeletethe Douche BAG !

Cindi I'm not sure you can ban IP addresses on blogger...but if you can I need to figure out how!
ReplyDeleteI had to go back to moderating, which SUCKS but I got like 100 spams overnight. That sucked more.
ReplyDeleteI hate spammers!
ReplyDeleteYOu go girl!!
ReplyDeleteI've gotten two spam comments and I didn't even know it the first time. Same guy.
I don't want weirdos even commenting..it scares me.
Good for you! I ad a terrible problem with asian bloggers leaving all sorts of comments on one particular post like every day. I would put their comments into a english to japanese translator and they were all about gay hookups and porn. I deleted them every day but finally had to lock the comments on the post. It was a post about vacations. Makes me so mad!

I know it must be so fusterating for you to deal with these spammers. Man my email and my twitter account has been bombarded with fake (hijacked) spam from my favorite blogs, that I'd be rich if I had a dime for everyone. But I realize, just as there are wonderful women willing to share with us their lives, their tips, and their PR goodie, there are jerks wanting to destroy our fellowship. Don't let them. Just get your delete fingers ready ladies.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Love this. Thank you for the chuckle. (hehe)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Great post :)
