ReplyDeleteI prepare ahead of time while my kids are napping. I'll get out all the non-refrigerated ingredients and bowls and pots/pans that I need and have everything lined up and prepared as much as possible so when it comes time to cook I can just get to it and go!

When I want chocolate chip cookies (it works best with this recipe) I put out onto the counter 1 bag of chocolate ships, 1 bottle of vanilla and wait 20 minutes. Usually in that time my daughter comes by and thinks, "hmm, I think I might like chocolate chip cookies," and in a half hour they're done.

The best way is to plan ahead. If you know you don't have much time, then plan on meals that don't take much time, or else cook part of it beforehand so you don't have to do much when the time comes.

I double check to make sure all my prep work is well and done before I begin the steps of cooking! That way I don't overwhelm myself by having to cut up veggies in the middle of grilling, etc. Thats when my mistakes happen! Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteMary T. at zttmm1314{at}yahoo{dot}{com} is commenting on Mary A's July 28th entry: I too measure ingrediants, and put them into bowls, but I do mine the night before. I want us to eat as healthy as possible, so I try to cook from scratch as often as I am able. We don't need the added chemicals and 'false foods' that are in much of today's processed foods.
ReplyDeleteToday Mary T. at zttmm1314{at}yahoo{dot}{com} would like to comment on the June post, "Mommy's Big Boy." Just the other day, in Walmart, I was behind a mother and son at the check-out line. The little boy proudly shouted out, "I went poops in the toilet." The mother's face turned beet red, and she mouthed "sorry" to the adults looking her way. I clapped and said, "yea" to the boy.
ReplyDeleteMary T. at zttmm1314{at}yahoo{dot}{com} is today commenting on the August post, "10 Things I Hated About High School." There was only one thing I really really hated about high school, and that is having to get up at 5 am. My class size was 13. I was selected to be the student who got to school before all of the teachers so that I could let them into the school before the 8 o'clock bell rang. Ugh!
