Dove Men+Care Review

My husband is definitely a tough guy, but he is one of the pickiest tough guys I’ve ever seen!

 

My experience with the opposite sex is, that they’ll (eat, drink, wear) pretty much whatever you give them—but not my husband!  Jamie always is extremely picky, like “for the love of God, will you just pick a pair of jeans and be done with it already?” picky.  Even the smallest task (picking out a pair of jeans for example) can take my husband forever and it’s completely maddening to me.  And while my husband is picky in all areas, he is most finicky about which brand of bath products he uses.

 

In the seven years that my husband and I have been together I have only known him to use one particular brand of men’s care products—and never deviate from that brand…ever.  So when I had the chance to work with one of my favorite brands—Dove, I was super excited, until I found out that it was men’s care products and then I was a little hesitant.  I accepted the review and decided that I would trick my husband into trying the products!

 

When the Dove Men+Care products arrived I went to work clearing out my husband’s side of the shower and medicine cabinet and replacing his usual brand with the Dove Men+Care line of products—and then I waited! 

 

 

 

That night I was watching TV when I heard Jamie yell from the bathroom…crap he caught me!  I popped my head into the bathroom and innocently asked hubby what was wrong…

 

Jamie:  Babe, where’s my body wash and shampoo? 

Me:  In the shower babe, Lil’ Man and Lil’ Diva got the other stuff when I was wasn’t looking and attempted to use them to clean the bathtub.  (Hey, blaming the lil ones is okay every once in a while…right?)

Jamie:  Yeah, I figured something was up…

Me:  What do you mean?

Jamie:  I thought the bathtub looked extra clean today.

Me:  Oh, yeah…they kick ass like that!

 

 

So I had managed to get hubby to use the Dove Men + Care easily enough, but the real test was whether or not he liked it!  So in true Misadventurous Mommy fashion I again  blamed the kids (yes, I’m a terrible mother) and this is how that conversation went…

 

Me:  I’m sorry that the kids decided to use your old body wash to clean the tub, but did you like the new body wash and deodorant? 

Jamie:  The kids didn’t really wash the tub with my body wash did they?

Me:  (I was caught) Um…sure they did!

Jamie:  I’m not convinced—this is a review huh?

Me:  (defeated) Alright I lied!  Yes, it’s a review…now did you like it or not?

Jamie:  Yeah, it’s pretty awesome (smells great)! 

Me:  Then why the hard time?

Jamie:  I like seeing you squirm!

 

So the moral of the story here folks is, never lie to your husband (and never blame the kids because you’re the one who ends up looking like a kid), instead tell him the truth—he just might surprise ya!

 

So Jamie liked the Dove Men+Care products and I actually love they way that they smell (not too strong, but enough to make your SO take notice) and the body wash actually seemed to make his skin so much smoother—not that I’d ever tell him that, cause for some strange reason men seem to equate soft to girly and we all know how they feel about anything girly!
