Every year around this time the battle for the title of “It” toy for the holiday season begins. Last year it was the Zhu Zhu pets, this year the TeaCup Piggies are vying for the title! 
The latest toy craze and sure to be “It” toy this holiday season, Teacup Piggies are sure to be on your child’s wish list this year! Not familiar with the Teacup Piggies? Well let me be the first to tell you all about them!
Teacup Piggies are adorable 6 inch miniature versions of the real Teacup Pigs. Each piggy comes with its own teacup accessories, and birth certificate and speak over 20 phrases. Additional accessories and play sets are also available. There are seven Teacup Piggies available: Princess, Snowflake, Locket, Copper, Goldie, Jor-De, and High Tops. Each piggie has its own unique personality and favorite phrases.
Teacup Pigs made their debut last year and quickly became the must-have pet for famous owners like Jessica Simpson, Carrie Underwood, David and Victoria Beckham, and Peter Facinelli (of Twilight fame) to name a few. The adorable pigs have also been featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, and the Today Show! The Teacup Piggies are available at Toys’R’Rus, Walmart, K-Mart, Walgreens, and Radio Shack and retail for between $5.99-$29.99!
We received the Teacup Piggie known as Princess to review. I must admit that I don’t usually like toys that talk or make noise (there is enough of that around here already) but this piggie changed my mind in a hurry. As soon as my youngest daughter saw Princess she said and I quote, “Awww piggy…I love it” and that was all it took for this anti-talking toy mommy to change her mind. And to be fair I have to say that Princess is pretty cute. Princess says that she is going to marry a prince when she gets older and that she will live in a castle. She also claims to throw the best parties—you have to admit that IS cute! Lil Diva sat and stared at Princess for what seemed like an eternity before she actually became brave enough to take her out of her teacup and play with her, I think that had a lot to do with all of the talking that Princess was doing. Once she got over her initial piggie shyness Lil Diva and princess became fast friends. Lil Diva carries Princess around with her everywhere she goes and it completely melts my heart when I see her “feeding” Princess her bottle and talking to her…it is the most adorable thing ever! If there is one thing I dislike about Princess it’s that she talks…a lot, but that is a small price to pay for the smile on Lil Diva’s face when she is playing with her!
My overall opinion of the Teacup Piggies is definitely positive! My daughter loves hers (and my son has requested one of his own) the piggies are adorable and have provided countless hours of fun at our house! The Teacup Piggies are sure to be a huge hit this holiday season so make sure you pick up a few while you can!
