I’ve tried to stay away from the whole Jon and Kate drama, but with Jon sinking to his latest low (and in my opinion lowest, low) I felt that I needed to speak about it!

First of all in case you weren’t aware Jon Gosselin is being accused of almost emptying his and Kate’s joint bank account. According to Kate the bank account was used to pay the bills and provide for their children. You can watch her interview with the Today Show’s Meredith Vieira here! Kate_GosselinJon_Gosselin

I have a huge problem with this! When my ex-husband and I first separated he gave me the house, of course I had been a SAHM for nearly 6 years at that time and had absolutely no way of paying the mortgage or any of the other bills. A couple of weeks after we separated my ex cleared our joint bank account of all funds leaving me with two small children and absolutely no way to take care of them. My husband had always been the bread winner and I had always taken care of our house and family, but while my lifestyle was far from what Kate and her children are accustomed to living, it was comfortable and we didn’t want or need for anything. I was completely terrified and lost, I had no idea what to do or where to turn…it was one of the scariest things to not wonder if you will be able to feed your children that day or the next. And while I do feel that Kate is being a little dramatic when she says she worries that she won’t be able to feed her children, I can completely sympathize with her and the situation she is going through. Truth be told if I had, had a platform where I could have made everyone aware of what an asshat my ex-husband was I would have.

What do you guys think about the latest Jon and Kate drama? Can you sympathize with Kate or do you think this is just another excuse for her to go on television and make her ex-husband look bad?

  1. I haven't been a loyal viewer of the show but watched it from time to time and always felt that Kate was mean to Jon. Then when I heard they were divorcing I have to say that I wasn't really surprised... but this! This is below LOW... this is even meaner than MEAN... how could any person, man or woman, put their children in that postition. I think that in the midst of any divorce the children are usually forgotten... this is sad!

  2. I think Jon is ridiculous. I used to sympathize with him when they were married and he seemed like a nice guy. Now I think he is such a loser. He is way too old to be acting the way he is. I'm sorry but he made the decision to get married young and have those children. He needs to grow up and act like an adult. Even if he has decided that he doesn't want to be married anymore he is still a father to those children and he needs to treat his ex-wife with kindness and respect. She has earned that over the 10 years they were married.

His behavior is so stupid. The way he dresses, the smoking, the partying, the girls. He can't even live in the same town as his children now?? I feel sorry for Kate and those kids.

Good topic! I hope things are going better for you now. :-)

  3. I couldn't agree more with both of you!

I too used to feel sorry for Jon. Kate did seem like the overbearing, nagging, mean wife, but I think now we see Jon's true colors. I really do hope this is just a phase (one that he needs to get over with a quickness)!

It's very sad that the children have to pay for their parents stupidity!

  5. I never understood the fascination with the family to begin with. Why do we laud, revere and/or feel sorry for someone who had a multiple birth as a result of taking fertility drugs, let alone make them "famous" for it?

My great-grandmother had the first set of triplets born in their city. Aside from their picture being on the cover of the local newspaper, it didn't make Nana or her girls famous by any means - just really, really busy! Oh, and Nana had five other children to raise, yet somehow she managed to do it AND keep her marriage strong - she didn't get any perks like J&K did, either.

  6. @spitfyr323- I completely understand what you mean, but I think the fascination lies in the fact that it is not often you get a peek inside the lives of people with two sets of multiples..kwim?

When I first started watching the show I was just very fascinated with how well Kate seemed to manage everything with such a large family!

  8. I think it was more fun to watch when they were in the first house and how creative they had to be with money and organization. But now its sort of all for the ratings, I stopped watching, I feel bad for them.

  9. I too used to think Kate was pretty bossy and not very nice to Jon. I felt sorry for him. But now I have no sympathy for him whatsoever. If he was truly unhappy in his marriage, he should have asked for a divorce before diddling the babysitter and whoever else he could get his hands on. There's a right way and a wrong way to go about things and he is setting a very poor example for his children. A man his age should know better.
