Being a mom of four comes with many challenges take bedtime for instance, it's always chaotic and never calm and peaceful...a mom can wish can't she!?! My kids have been on a very strict schedule ever since they were babies; dinner, bath, bed and even though the older kids have had the same schedule since they were small getting them to go to bed without an argument is still one of the hardest parts of my day!

Recently I was introduced to YogaBuddies Bedtime stories DVD. The YogaBuddies bedtime stories DVD includes 3 bedtime stories and 42 yoga poses designed to help your kids relax, unwind, and stretch before bedtime. The mission of YogaBuddies is to inspire students physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially through the practice of yoga.

Now I will be the first to admit that I have always been intrigued by yoga, the people I know who do yoga swear by it and though I have always wanted to try it I've yet to commit myself to it. Add to that the fact that I'm always a little skeptical about things that I've never tried and you get one very iffy mommy praying to the yoga gods to please calm my children down before bed. I popped in the DVD not at all expecting a miracle but hoping for a little more calm before bed. My 10 and 7 year olds sat in front of the television listening intently and watching the yoga poses before they attempted to do the poses themselves but they quickly overcame their reservations and were up and posing away, even my 2 year old got into the act trying to emulate his sisters! Once the DVD was over my usually rambunctious 7 year old (who never wants to hear it's bedtime) came up to me, gave me a kiss and a hug, and said.."I'm ready for bed!" HALLELUJAH! Seriously I was impressed the DVD calmed her down enough that she wasn't a ball of energy and enough that she was ready for bed without any arguments! Overall I was very impressed by the YogaBuddies Bedtime stories DVD it calmed my girls before bed and it was interesting enough that it kept their attention!

Now I know you want to know how you can get this DVD don't ya?

  3. Oh that is pretty darn neat. I think the best thing i like is the fact that you are doing some positive movement to help a child relax. This may be awesome and something I'd love to try with Joey.

  8. Oh boy I NEED this for Cole that poor boy needs so calming :)

Love that they say YOGA POSES — Students learn and master new yoga poses each session for the first 4 weeks and all poses are put together to create a flow.

I love how they have bedtime stories included with yoga. We do yoga before bed every night and this would be an awesome addition!

  15. Oh, so cool! I have been looking for kids yoga classes around town - I got all excited when I saw they teach classes until I realized they were 2000 miles away from me. Oh well! Maybe I'll win the video and the kid can learn yoga that way :)
