It may just be the first week of November, but I’m already in the holiday spirit. If I’m not thinking about our Holiday Gift Guide (which is coming soon!), then I’m planning the light display for my front yard—I love this time of year!
On a cold December night, one of my favorite things to do is grab a mug of hot chocolate and snuggle up on the couch with the kiddos to watch Christmas movies. We all have our old favorites, but we’re also always game for a new movie to add to our holiday movie collection.
A few weeks ago I received Thomas Kinkade’s Christmas Miracle to review and we can’t wait to check out it, but in the meantime you can find out all about the movie below..

Ever wish you could just rewind life back to when things were simple?You know, when we played outside in the summer until the fireflies no longer provided enough glow.
When we would have laughed at the possibility of portable phones and video chatting, on a laptop, with someone halfway across the country (or the world).
When cartoons were cartoons and you had to get up super early on Saturday mornings to watch them.
Though the possibility of time travel is probably not that far out, it’s pretty impossible to actually “go back” to your childhood, but you can enjoy some of your favorite cartoons from when you were a kid (if you’re a product of the 80’s like I was) and pass that love onto your little ones by sharing some of your favorites on DVD!
I don’t know about you, but my kids love cartoons from the 80’s, thanks to my sister, who I’m pretty sure has most of her beloved toys from the 80’s (like the real-real My Little Pony and Rainbow Brite), and my mom who’s a bit of a hoarder (she keeps everything) my oldest daughter’s have gotten to know and love the cartoons from the 80’s from watching the original…my mother also still has a working VHS player at her house…I think she may quite possibly be the only person who still has a working VHS player in her house). It’s that love of 80’s cartoons that had me jumping at the chance to hang out with my kiddos and watch some of my favorite 80’s cartoons on DVD!

I have to tell you, it was so awesome to be able to relate to my kids on their level, but there’s nothing like watching your favorite cartoon from when you were a kid and realizing that your 3 year old knows the Heathcliff theme song as well you do! I had such a good time watching the cartoons from Mill Creek Entertainment with my little ones and looking down to see not only me, but my 3 and 4 year old, shaking our feet to the beat of the Where in the World is Carmen San Diego…such an awesome Mommy moment!

Being a mom of four comes with many challenges take bedtime for instance, it's always chaotic and never calm and peaceful...a mom can wish can't she!?! My kids have been on a very strict schedule ever since they were babies; dinner, bath, bed and even though the older kids have had the same schedule since they were small getting them to go to bed without an argument is still one of the hardest parts of my day!
Recently I was introduced to YogaBuddies Bedtime stories DVD. I popped in the DVD not at all expecting a miracle but hoping for a little more calm before bed. My 10 and 7 year olds sat in front of the television listening intently and watching the yoga poses before they attempted to do the poses themselves but they quickly overcame their reservations and were up and posing away, even my 2 year old got into the act trying to emulate his sisters! Once the DVD was over my usually rambunctious 7 year old (who never wants to hear it's bedtime) came up to me, gave me a kiss and a hug, and said.."I'm ready for bed!" HALLELUJAH! Seriously I was impressed the DVD calmed her down enough that she wasn't a ball of energy and enough that she was ready for bed without any arguments! Overall I was very impressed by the YogaBuddies Bedtime stories DVD it calmed my girls before bed and it was interesting enough that it kept their attention!Now I know you want to know how you can get this DVD don't ya?

As my son gets older I notice his need for educational stimulation more and more when it comes to the movies and television shows that he watches. If he's watching a television show and there's no music or interaction then nine times out of ten he'll walk away to find something more interesting to do! There are a number of brands that are go-to brands for me when it comes to incorporating fun an
d education but the one brand that never fails to fulfill both needs is LeapFrog. So when I was asked to review one of the LeapFrog DVDs I jumped at the chance!Starting May 12 Lionsgate is teaming up with Leapfrog to release two of their best selling titles, LeapFrog Letter Factory and LeapFrog Talking Words Factory. The LeapFrog brand is known for producing high quality, entertaining, and educational products for children and these DVD's combine music and stories to help children become excited about learning to read. Both titles are available today and retail for $14.98 each.
We were able to review the LeapFrog Letter Factory which teaches
letters, phonics, and listening skills. The popular Leap, Lily, and Tad (we love Tad at our house) have a crazy adventure in the Letter Factory and its non stop energy from beginning to end! I was amazed at how quickly Gaige picked up on the songs and started saying the letters. Of course I was very pleased that everything was set to music because Gaige won't usually pay attention to a television show or movie unless there is music and singing. Overall we were very pleased with the LeapFrog Letter Factory my son laughed, sang, danced, and best of all learned several letters of the alphabet that I have been having a difficult time teaching him. So if you're looking for a great DVD that's both fun and educational I would absolutely suggest this title!
