You Haven’t Felt Comfort Until You’ve Slipped into a pair of Orthaheel Slippers!

As someone who deals with chronic back pain, I was instantly intrigued by the orthopedic benefits of the Orthaheel slippers, I received the Gemma mule slippers (in the pink hearts design) recently as part of a campaign I’m working on and  I couldn't wait to get them on my feet and see first hand how comfortable they really were.   As soon as they arrived I opened the box, tore off my old slippers and put the Orthaheel slippers on and then went to work doing the usually stay-at-home-mommy thing, you know, cleaning, cooking, laundry, the whole shebang.  Instantly I noticed how soft and comfortable the Gemma slippers were and hours later I realized that my feet seemed to hurt a whole lot less than they normally did with my old slippers.  Being the doubting Thomas that I always am, I decided to give the slippers a few more days before I began singing their praises from the rooftops….so, fast forward one week later and I’m kind of loving these slippers. 

 

As I mentioned before, I do wear my slippers all the time, honestly, I dislike having to take them off and put on real shoes, so I have been on cloud 9 getting everything ready for the holidays while wearing my slippers; from decorating the Christmas tree with the family and wrapping too many presents to count, to painting homemade Christmas Countdown signs to give as gifts for Christmas, my Orthaheel slippers haven’t let me down yet!  I’ve honestly never been one to spend much on my slippers and the nearly $60 price tag for the Gemma slippers is a little more than I’ve ever paid for a pair of slipper, BUT they are worth every penny!   If you’re looking for a pair of super comfy, slipper that are the best, most comfortable that I’ve ever had the pleasure of slipping on to my feet, then I definitely suggest Orthaheel!

I may be a little too old (yeah, I admit it) to play with the Whip ‘N Skip, but my kiddos sure aren’t and it’s right up their alley. I love that the Whip ‘N Skip gives kids a great workout (I’ll definitely vouch for that) while they’re still having a blast, for a mom, that’s a win—win!

Check Out The DayCase iPhone Case from Under the Rainbow Media!

I’ve mentioned a few times now how much I love my iPhone—it’s seriously sick how much I love this thing.  Part of loving my iPhone is wanting to make it look oh-so-pretty—who doesn’t love pretty things…right—but unfortunately, mine has been stuck in an ugly protective case since the day I bought it (if you know me you know that I destroy cell phones like it’s my job).  I’ve wanted to change my case up for a while now I just hate having to spend all kinds of money and only getting one option—that’s why I was stoked when I found Under the Rainbow Media and the DayCase!

I can’t say anything about Under the Rainbow Media and the Day Case, without mentioning Erika, owner of Under the Rainbow Media, LLC and the founder of DayCase, lover of all things Apple (me too!!) and mom!  Along with her teenage daughter (the Chief Design Consultant), 4 year old Chief Product Tester, her husband who is also “the Visionary” and two very cute doggies, Erika creates the cutest cell phone cases I’ve seen in a long time. 

So I know you all want to know what a DayCase is…right?  Well, the DayCase  “is a fun and affordable line of cases.  It is simply 1 case with a clear, see through hard back.  You place the predesigned or custom DIY inserts into the case anytime you wish to have a different look for your case.  The Insert Collections are sold in sets of 3, so basically you are getting 3 cases for the price of 1 every time you order a new collection.” And I don’t know about you, but getting 3 cases for the price of 1 is a definitely plus in my book!   Standard inserts are made of a heavy duty grade card stock, but Erika assures you that they won’t rip or tear as long as you show them a little love.  If you’re still worried about ripping or tearing the inserts, they do offer an upgrade to the standard inserts.  The upgraded inserts are made of synthetic paper made from a polyester film. This paper is tear, water and chemical resistant. The film has a special two-sided coated matte finish and a paper-like appearance. Aside from the completely adorable premade inserts for the iPod Touch 5th Generation, the iPhone 4 and 5, and the Samsung Galaxy s3, you can also have your DayCase personalized with everything from your initials to your company logo—how awesome is that!

Recently I had the opportunity to try a couple of the DayCase Bumper cases (one in black and one in white) along with a ton of super cute inserts and I have to tell you, I really love this product!  I really love that I can easily attach and remove the DayCase from my iPhone to change inserts (the case that I had been using prior to the DayCase was a nightmare to take off and put back on), there are a ton of insert designs and patterns to chose from so being bored with your case isn’t likely to happen.  {Plus, this is perfect if you have a teenager with an iPod Touch, iPhone, or Samsung Galaxy s3—makes a great holiday gift!}.  I’ve received so many compliments on my phone case, the “Of Course I’m a Good Mother, They’re Still Alive Aren’t They” seems to be a favorite and I love that I can change the inserts out, every day if I wanted to, to reflect my mood!  They also have a ton of holiday inspired inserts that would be perfect this winter!

Holiday Gift Guide: iHangy Slip in 5 Products

Think Outside the Bag with Clipa!

I don’t have too many personal positions that I’m super protective of (with 4 kids you can’t own anything that you don’t want to take the chance of having them ruin…seriously), but there is one exception—my purses.  It’s not like I have Louis Vuitton on anything like that, but those that I do have, I love and try not to ruin.  If you love purses, or handbags as I prefer to call them, as much as I do then you’ll be able to totally relate when I say that I hate having to put my bag on the floor when I’m out somewhere and there isn’t anywhere to hang it—I really, really dislike having to do that.  Thankfully I found Clipa (well actually they found me) so now I never have to put my purse on a dirty floor again—it truly is the little things that make me insanely happy.

I thought that the BB STARS shoes were so cute and I knew that Lil Diva would adore them as they’re lightweight, comfortable and most of all, fashionable.  We chose the BB STARS in pink to review and though the shoes themselves are cute, the Reversa Straps are adorable, I love the skulls (I have a thing for skulls) and the black and white polka dot straps are just too freakin cute.  I love that the shoes are lightweight and super easy to clean (I refuse to buy a pair of kids shoes that can’t be easily cleaned…it’s not worth the money in my opinion) and Lil Diva loves them because they are “beautiful”…she’s a shoe lover for sure.  Though it’s a little chilly here in Southern Ohio this time of year, add a pair of thick socks and as long as it isn’t wet outside, the shoes work great,, even in December.  I’m sure Lil Diva can’t wait for summer so she can hit up the pool and the beach in her new BB STAR’S!

Team Umizoomi and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles…Check Out Nickelodeon’s Holiday Gift Guide!

One of my all-time favorite networks for children’s programming has always been Nickelodeon; from the exceptional educational aspects of their preschool shows to the characters that my children (and I) have grown to love, Nickelodeon is and always will be, my favorite network for kids.  I can’t tell you how many of the characters have found their way into my house through the years and now Dora and SpongeBob and all the rest are just part of the family.  Since my children do like Nickelodeon so much, it would only make sense that their favorite characters would end up on their Christmas lists. 

Recently, I was given the opportunity to check out the 2012 Nickelodeon Holiday Gift Guide and I have to tell you, it’s filled with new products featuring all your kids’ favorites like, Dora the Explorer, Team Umizoomi, Bubble Guppies, Victorious, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  I just have to say, I was kinda impressed with all of the goodies that I’m sure will be on lots of wish lists this holiday season! 

Thanks to the awesome people at Nickelodeon, I was able to get my hands on a couple of items from the gift guide to review and I can’t wait  to share my thoughts with all of you…



Both Lil Man and Lil Diva love Team Umizoomi, in fact, prior to my son starting school this year, Umizoomi seemed to be his math teacher, I couldn’t believe how easily he learned things watching the show that I had been trying to teach him for months—thank goodness I decided teaching wasn’t for me early on in my college career.  I am amazed at how much both of my children learn when they watch this show—I’m always impressed and both the characters and the show are absolutely adorable.  We had the opportunity to check out Mighty Musical Milli, one of the characters from Team Umizoomi.  Milli is even more adorable in plush form and she’s the perfect gift for Lil Diva who loves to learn, but gets bored with it very easily.  In addition to having two modes of play (Interactive Learning and Musical Activities), Mighty Musical Milli is the perfect size and weight for Lil Diva to tote around everywhere with her…what’s not to love?  For $29.99 Mighty Musical Milli has my vote for one of the top contenders for favorite products of 2012!  If your little one loves Umizoomi, but prefers Geo, not to worry, Mighty Musical Geo is also available as well as lots of other hot holiday toy items from Nickelodeon.  Check out the video below of Mighty Musical Milli in action!

It wouldn’t have felt right to check out some of the best Nickelodeon holiday items without finding something for Lil Man to have fun with and that’s when the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ninja Stealth Bike caught my eye.  My Lil Man has been a fan of the four green “bad guy getters” as he calls them, for a while now thanks to his big brother and he loves action figures with cool bikes so this was perfect for him.  I can’t help but share the memory that comes to mind whenever I think of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it’s like I’m instantly transported to my childhood and memories of sitting on the floor at my Aunt D’s house watching TMNT on Saturday morning with my little cousins—ah, memories.  So even though I wasn’t as into them as my cousin was, I can still definitely appreciate that my son loves the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as much as he does.  As far as toys go, I’m pretty sure that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ninja Stealth Bike ranks pretty high on the awesomeness chart!  In addition to just looking flat out awesome, the Ninja Stealth Bike is just like the one from the TV show and it’s compatible with all of the basic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figures, so all of the guys can take a turn, though the Ninja Stealth Bike does come with an  exclusive Raphael action figure—total score.  Seriously though, if you have a few TMNT fans in your house, then the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ninja Stealth Bike should definitely be on your list and for less than $20 you can’t beat the price or the satisfaction of knowing that you scored a great deal on an awesome gift for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fan in your life!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Third Wheel {My Kids Love It}

All of my kids love to read, even Lil Man who just started reading this year is always so excited when he gets a new book from school to bring home and read to me.  I suppose I have my mother’s love of books and the countless times she’s taken my kiddos to the library to thank for my children enjoying reading so much—thanks Mom!  I love that my kids love to read and I also love when they’ve read books (that are also movies) and seemed to enjoy the books so much more…as with the Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise. 

I remember my husband and I taking all of our kids, all 6 of them, yes, even Lil Diva, to see Diary of a Wimpy
Kid when the movie came out and how much all of them loved it.  From that point on the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books were in our house constantly.  So when the seventh book in the Wimpy Kid series, The Third Wheel,  became available for review, I couldn’t resist!

Fan Band: Wear Your Favorite Team on Your Wrist! {Win It}

Like I said before, almost as soon as my children seen them, they wanted one, actually I’m pretty sure they all wanted one before they even knew what they were simply because they looked cool.  Even my 13 year old step-son who is not at all easily impressed was excited about it, I’m pretty sure that’s a minor miracle in itself so well played Fan Band, well played!  The very nice people at Fan Band sent 3 Fan Bands for my kiddos who play ball and when they got here they were more than excited to put them on.  My step-son had a few of his friends over when the Fan Bands came in the mail and he couldn’t wait to show them how “bad” (which I ‘m pretty sure means awesome, they were.  My 5 year old had his first basketball practice the same day and he couldn’t wait to show his friends, I even had a couple of the parents ask where they could get one!  Now when the kids have practice they make sure to grab their gym bags and their Fan Band, I’m pretty sure that means they like them!

Holiday Gift Guide: The Children’s Place

One of my absolute favorite places to buy children’s clothes is The Children’s Place!

 

 

It doesn’t matter what season, or what occasion—The Children’s Place seems to always have the perfect outfit and the perfect accessories to match—and I love that!  On top of the ridiculously adorable fashions at The Children’s Place they are super affordable…now that’s something that this mommy definitely appreciates!

We had the chance to try Zumba Fitness 2 fir Wii recently and I have to say—it’s as awesome (maybe even a lil more) as the first!  It lets you work out while having fun so that it hardly feels like a workout, yet it really does work you out—hardcore!
