I don’t know how the weather in your neck of the woods has been this “winter” but here in Southern Ohio its been anything but winter!
With temperatures in the mid forties nearly every other day, we’ve been completely spoiled by having awesome weather this winter, of course, that awesome weather comes at a price, and the price is that the constant weather changes mean lots of sniffles and sneezes around here!
For the past several months, allergies and colds have wreaked havoc on our household and that means that germs have been kicking it into overdrive! Being the complete Germaphobe I am, I’ve spent more hours fighting germs this winter than I have just about anything else! Thankfully, I have a secret weapon—Clorox Fresh Scent Wipes!
You may remember my last post about Clorox Disinfectant Wipes and my admission to that I probably couldn’t make it through most days around here without them at my side. That’s all true, it would be Cold City around here without Clorox!
Since the awesome people at Cleaning Supply Company, CleanItSupply set me a ton of Clorox products to review I just happen to have a few containers of Clorox Wet Wipes on hand should the
cold bug decide to show up at my door!

I realize that I’ve been very hit and miss with posts lately, but I promise you I have a good reason…more like 20! In addition to dental surgeries, new cars and lots of sick kiddos, I’ve been started the process of moving my new blog MisadventurousMommy.com to WordPress! I’ve been a blogger for a little over three years now and I have stuck to Blogspot, like my son sticks to me when a pretty girl comes in his vicinity—I have been stubborn, insistent and resistant to change, but then my friend Shan and I began a Facebook conversation that ended with me giving her the go ahead to switch MM to Wordpress…did I seriously just do that?
Anyway, I promise to share all of those stories with you later on Misadventurous Mommy, but for now how’s a nice giveaway to apologize for my absence!
I’ve mentioned in other posts that when it comes to cold and flu season, my house is always hit and hit hard! With four kiddos in the house constantly, colds seem to leap frog from one child to the next before ending up right back where it started…and so a vicious cycle begins! One of my must-have products for cleaning, all year round, but specifically during cold and flu season is Clorox Wipes!
I’ve been a fan of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes for the longest time and a fan of the Clorox brand for even longer, in my mind Clorox means clean…period! I could spend hours cleaning my bathroom and kitchen (the two most used rooms in my house) but if I don’t walk out of them smelling the lemony fresh scent of Clorox Lemon Fresh Scent then I don’t feel like those rooms are clean! That’s why I was super excited when one of my very favorite brands ever CleanItSupply.com sent over a few Clorox products for me to try recently—it was definitely a neat freak’s dream come true! I have to admit, I was very happy to see one of my favorite Clorox products ever—Clorox Lemon Fresh Wipes!
I’m not sure if people without children realize how insanely messy children can be; within the first few hours I was awake I cleaned up yogurt, chapstick, lip stick, lotion, vomit and ravioli all in the span of 2 hours. I don’t spend a lot of time talking about my husband Jamie here because well, he doesn’t really like it when I do that, so being the good wife that I am I try to comply with his wishes—keyword here is try people!
Jamie works for one of the biggest flavoring manufactures in the US, and while he loves his job and I love that he has a job that he loves I do not love the smells that follow him home! Since his company makes the flavoring for everything from Wrigley’s gum to dog food (yes people dog food, and you can imagine what that smells like) I never know what he’s going to smell like when he comes home every day. Needless to say I was his uniforms often—and lots of uniforms being washed means lots and lots of spray starch! And even though Jamie doesn’t mind the smell of dog food on his uniforms (how can he not) it drives him crazy if his uniforms aren’t crisp and perfect each and every morning—good thing I have lots of Niagara starch on hand!
Over the past three years I’ve gone through an array of spray starch brands trying to find one that worked for my husbands uniforms without irritating him (this is the reason he cannot have his uniforms laundered through his company) and when I found Niagara spray starch it did the job without the irritation and we have used it ever since!
When I found out that I would be doing a few reviews for laundry products from CleanitSupply.com and that Niagara would be included I was super excited because it’s a product that I use all of the time anyway! Among the many reasons why I love Niagara spray starch is the fact that it is non-aerosol making it a lot easier to use and a whole lot better for the environment! I also appreciate that my husband doesn’t have the irritation with Niagara that he has had with other brands. With all of the money I spend on cleaning products on a weekly basis it’s nice to know that there are products out there like Niagara that are affordable and work amazingly well—it definitely helps me watch my bottom line!

If there’s one thing I have infinite experience in it’s doing laundry! With 4 kids (and 6 in the summer) I spend a good portion of every day sorting, washing, drying, folding, and putting away laundry—some days it seems like the only thing I do!
Needless to say, I spend mucho dinero on laundry products; from laundry detergent to fabric softener—it’s not cheap! That’s why I was psyched a couple of weeks ago when UPS showed up to my house with all of this for me to review!
Now, if you’re a mommy like I am, with lots of kiddos running around getting dirty constantly then this shipment is the equivalent of Christmas, your birthday, Valentines Day, and your anniversary all rolled into one—alright maybe not quite all of that, but you get the point!
The single biggest expense that I incur weekly, aside from groceries, is cleaning supplies, so I was extremely happy to have the chance to review one of my favorite laundry detergents—Ajax 2X, not to mention the fabric softener and spray starch (my hubby’s uniforms will be super crisp for a long time to come)! And we will get to the fabric softener and spray starch soon enough, but for now we’re going to concentrate on the Ajax 2X HE Laundry Detergent.
I’ve been a fan of Ajax liquid detergent for a long while, not only is it super affordable (something that is majorly important when you do as much laundry as I do) it also smells great and works fabulously! And even though I received Ajax 2X HE Laundry Detergent and don’t actually have an HE machine, it causes no problems in non-HE machines and you can use it just as you would your regular laundry detergent (per the Phoenix Brands manufacturer) —sweet!
I’ve been using the Ajax laundry detergent for a couple of weeks now and I love it! The detergent cleans as well, if not a little better, than my usual more expensive detergent and it leaves my clothes smelling great!
