If there is one subject that I feel infinitely qualified to give advice on, it’s laundry.  With four messy children and one dirty husband I do my fair share of laundry.  And while washing, drying, and folding is a time consuming task, the one task I despise more is finding and treating stains.  Of course, it seems that no matter how much time I spent trying to make our clothes look new again I always have a few nasty stains slip through my mommy radar.

A few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to try out new all Oxi Active laundry detergent. I have to be honest and admit that all has always been one of my favorite laundry detergent brands so trying the new all Oxi Active wasn’t a huge stretch for me as I would have probably purchased it sooner or later anyway.  So what makes all Oxi Active different than other detergents?  “New all Oxi Active laundry detergent delivers 2-in-1 advanced cleaning power and cleans better than the leading Oxi liquid detergent on tough stains like grass.  Containing innovative all Oxi Active Stainlifters, all Oxi Active is the most powerful all product on the market.”  Some of the features of all Oxi-Active are:
*  Delivers 2-in-1 advanced cleaning power
*  Vibrant whites and bright colors
*  Safe for both traditional and HE washing machines
*  Cleans better than the leading Oxi liquid detergent on tough stains
As I mentioned above I received a bottle of the all Oxi Active to try and as I also mentioned above I have 5 very dirty housemates who were more than happy to provide me with endless amounts of dirty clothes to assist me in my review (thanks y’all).  Since I’m being honest I feel the need to admit that I have mixed feelings about all Oxi Active—yes I know I was disappointed as well.  While I think my colors were much brighter while using all Oxi Active and I noticed improved clean overall in my clothing I didn’t notice much difference in stain removal.  I will say that while I was using all Oxi Active I didn’t pre-treat the clothing for stains and maybe that is why I didn’t notice much difference in stain removal.  I would definitely give all Oxi Active a second chance, because I really do like the way it cleaned my clothes…though maybe this time I would pre-treat all of the stains.
Guess what?  2 Misadventures in Baby Raising readers are going to get a chance to check out all Oxi Active!  Yes 2 MIBR winners will receive 1 bottle of new Oxi Active!

With summer on the horizon and my kids outside playing more it’s time to start being proactive and make sure that they are protected against the sun’s harmful rays and the buggies that come out when it starts getting warm.  I am pretty adamant about my children wearing sunscreen and bug repellent (yes I’m the mom on the sidelines of the soccer games with bug repellent in one hand and sunscreen in the other) but at the same time I don’t like covering my children with a bunch of chemicals.  I have tried many, many of the products on the market and while most of them do their jobs, I can never seem to get over the chemicals that they contain.  That’s why I was so excited to be introduced you to All Terrain.

All Terrain is a company dedicated to selling quality “natural remedies for nature enthusiasts”.   All Terrain was founded in 1996 when founder Todd Hakanson was hiking in Costa Rica when a bottle of DEET insect repellent leaked from his backpack and essentially ate through his backpack and the keys on a calculator he was carrying.  Hakanson decided to do some research into the effects of DEET and what he found shocked him so much that he developed an all-natural insect repellent formula.  In addition to all-natural ingredients All Terrain also uses packaging made from recycled materials, they do their part to increase awareness for environmental issues, and they also work closely with Environmental Groups to increase awareness and to educate the public.image
