Day 5 of Fun in the Sun…UV Skinz!

It’s Day 5 of our Fun in the Sun blog party…taking a day off for Wordless Wednesday was just what I needed to recharge.  I hope you’ve all had the chance to check out the other giveaways…they are pretty awesome if I do say so myself! 

When the sun starts blazing I always worry about dangerous UVA and UVB rays; I am super cautious, but I still always worry about my kids getting too much sun, or worse getting burnt.  I found a great company that makes our jobs a little easier when it comes to sun protection…UV Skinz.  For those of you not familiar with this company here’s the lowdown on them.  Rhonda Sparks, founder of UV Skinz started the company in 2005 after losing her 32 year old husband to melanoma (the deadliest form of skin cancer).  With skin cancer dangerously on the rise in young children, Rhonda’s mission is simple; to ensure that all babies, children, and teens are given proper protection from the sun.  In honor of May being National Skin Cancer Awareness Month, UV Skinz is giving away free UV Protective Baby Swim Wear shirts to all customers who place an order this month!  This year marks the third consecutive year that UV Skinz has generously donated to their cause!  Rhonda estimated that in 2008 UV Skinz gave away  1,850 swim shirts for the May 2008 Skin Cancer Awareness promotion and about doubled that in last year’s 2009 giveaway. The company’s intention this year is to reach the 3,000 Baby Skinz giveaway goal…let’s help them reach and then exceed that goal by getting the word out to everyone we know!
