A couple of weeks ago I received a pitch from Good Call for a Bluetooth handset for my iPhone and I was immediately intrigued. While I really do love my iPhone 4, it’s not the easiest phone to have a long conversation on simply because of the design. I know some people may disagree with that statement, but for me personally, if I’m not using a Bluetooth headset while having a conversation on my phone, then I usually try to cut the conversations short, sad, but true. Though I’ve tried several Bluetooth headsets, I’ve never used a Bluetooth handset, but I was excited about the possibility of being able to use my phone without being annoyed.
If you’ve never heard of Good Call, here’s a little more about the company and their seriously cool product…
The iG1 Bluetooth iPhone Handset, is a wireless handset that allows you to pick up a call (and then hang up a call) without having to wear an earpiece, the ergonomic design allows you to comfortably cradle the handset between your ear and your shoulder for optimal comfort during call, yes, even the long ones. You can even use Siri to make calls even easier and even more hands free by simply picking up the handset and telling Siri to call anyone on your contact with ease. One of the coolest features of Good Call is the fact that your iPhone doesn’t need to be docked to make a call on the handset, you can even take the handset with you almost anywhere as long as your iPhone and handset are within general Bluetooth range! I also really like that with the Good Call iG1, you can sync and charge your iPhone while making a call, which is great for those long talks with friends! Finally, another of my favorite features of the Good Call iG1, is that you don’t have to worry about staying in areas of your home with the best reception, you simply leave your iPhone where you have the best reception and you can walk around your home or office with ease—pretty cool if I do say so myself!
As I mentioned above, I like to talk on my phone—a lot, but talking on my iPhone for long periods, can sometimes be a pain, that’s why I was super psyched when the iG1 by Good Call was as awesome IRL as it sounded online. Since I definitely believe that seeing is believing, here’s a little video that the big kids and I put together to show the iG1 in action.
There you have it, Misadventurous Mommy’s thoughts on the iG1 Bluetooth iPhone Handset from Good Call and if you want to check it out so you can get one too, you can find more information, including where to buy it, on the Good Call website—you can also get it in HD!

Living with two teenagers is definitely a challenge, if they’re not thinking up new ways to push my buttons, then their overactive teenage hormones are making the entire house wish we lived somewhere, anywhere, else. With all of those hormones going a mile a minute in every conceivable direction, I kind of feel sorry for them and the journey they’re on at the moment, especially when it comes to the dreaded P—you know, pimples.
Unless you were born with pimple resistant genes (and curse those who were), you’ve probably experienced a pimple or two in your lifetime and unfortunately for teenagers, a pretty good part of the teenage years, are spent battling them. While I never really dealt with bad breakouts until after I had my oldest daughter, I did have a few experiences in high school that I’d rather forget (nothing like trying to cover a pimple on the tip of your nose on picture day) so I know that breakouts are no fun, especially in high school. My step-son and oldest daughter both suffer from breakouts from time to time and try as I might, I’ve not been able to find a product that actually works, that they’ll use, I blame it on them being too lazy. So when one of my favorite PR people asked me if I was interested in reviewing a one-step acne treatment called Repiderm, it seemed like a no brainer.
About Repiderm…
Repiderm is an anti-acne and anti-blemish treatment that's single-step, unlike other treatment systems that require multiple steps and expensive lineups of individual products. Repiderm stands on its own with a proprietary blend of 16 herbal extracts and essential oils, as well as 4.4% benzoyl peroxide. It works for people with dry skin as well because it has moisturizing components, like aloe. It helps alleviate acne, blackheads, whiteheads and pimples. It's great for pre-teens and teens because the single step means there's nothing complicated about it.
As any parent of a teenager will tell you, the simpler, the better when it comes to getting them to use a product, even a product that will get rid of the very pimples they hate…if it’s not one simple process, they’re probably not going to use it, at least in my experience. I received a few bottles of Repiderm to try out so I gave both Drama Teen and L a bottle and told them to use it morning and night after showering and before going to bed. Honestly, I had my doubts about them using the product, because seriously, they are that lazy, but to my complete surprise they have both been using it. I could tell you all day what I think about the product, but I think hearing it from them might be the way to go with this one.
Drama Teen’s thoughts on Repiderm…
“I like that Repiderm is easy; you don’t have 5 different steps and lots of different products so I like that. I don’t love the smell of the product, but it’s easy and it seems to be helping so I think I can live with the smell.”
Step-Son L’s thoughts on Repiderm…
“It’s alright I guess. I like that it’s easy and I don’t have to walk around with white dots on my face!”
If you have a teenage boy, then you know that, that glowing endorsement is as good as it gets! I decided to join both of the teenagers in using Repiderm to see how I like it compared to the other products that I’ve tried and I have to agree with them in that it is super easy, especially when you’re used to using a skincare system that has like 10 steps and products. Besides being extremely easy to use, Repiderm is one of the only acne products I’ve ever used that doesn’t dry my skin and honestly, that fact alone is enough for me to strongly consider pitching those other products.
BUY IT!
If you or someone you know suffers from acne, I definitely suggest giving Repiderm a try. Repiderm is available in a full size 2 oz. bottle for $27 and can be ordered online via the Bio-Scriptives website.

If you know me in real life, then you know that I’m a creature of habit, not sure if that’s the best thing to admit on the internet, but it is what it is. I like things a certain way and I very seldom deviate from that system, my system…the system that works for me. And while this normal, boring pattern may take precedence over certain aspects of my life more than others, it’s most definitely true for the brands that I buy and more specifically the beauty brands I buy.
I’ve never been what I’d call a “hair” girl, I mean I’ve had the exact same haircut for the majority of my life—long, straight and light brown—but I have always been super picky about the products I use to wash my hair. For the longest time I’ve used a certain herbal shampoo and conditioner to wash my hair, I mean it makes my hair clean and it smells good, but aside from that it wasn’t like super spectacular or anything and it was just recently that I switched to another brand after a review. Since I was presented with the chance recently to try another brand of shampoo and conditioner I thought what the heck.
I’ve known about Infusium 23 for a long time, but to be honest, I hadn’t tried it until a few weeks ago, I told you, I was completely hung up on my usual brand. As with all of my reviews, I went in not expecting a better performance than my usual brand already did and came out wondering why I hadn’t tried Infusium 23 before—can you say seriously sexy, soft, gorgeous hair…I couldn’t wait to have Drama Tween try it!
Since Drama Tween uses pretty much the same shampoo and conditioner I do she too was game to try the Infusium out and she had great results. Drama Tween wasn’t blessed (in my case I prefer to think of it as a curse) with stick straight, non frizzy hair like I was so the products she uses have to do the job they’re supposed to do or she doesn’t get great results, with the Infusium 23’s Repair & Renew collection, DT got great results, honestly her hair looked better after using the Infusium than it has in a while. We are definitely adding Infusium 23 Repair & Renew collection to her back to school beauty regime!
About Infusium 23 Repair & Renew collection:
If your daughter tends to crave a little more luxury with her hair care routine, try Infusium 23’s Repair & Renew collection. This three-step system provides protection from daily elements and
styling, leaving hair healthy, shiny and damage-free all year long. Repair & Renew Shampoo thoroughly cleanses to remove residue and buildup while nourishing from root to tip. Repair & Renew Conditioner seriously hydrates stressed locks, providing softness, manageability and shine. Repair & Renew Leave-In Treatment restores healthy texture and strengthens hair against future damage.
So how do we like Infusium 23? Drama Tween and I both give it two big thumbs up!
We had the opportunity to try PERT Plus 2in1 Shampoo and Conditioner and while Drama Tween and I were enjoying the Infusium 23 Repair & Review line, Sporty Spice was more than happy to be my test subject…yes, we do test on humans here.. Sporty Spice is one of those children who adore (and I do mean in the mirror messing with her hair 24/7) but she is also the kind of kid who wants to get in the bathtub and out of the bathtub as quickly as possible. Since SS is all about saving time in the bathroom, PERT Plus 2in1 is definitely for her.
About PERT Plus 2in1 Shampoo and Conditioner:
If your little one’s style doesn’t require too much work, PERT Plus 2in1 Shampoo and Conditioner is the perfect solution. This shampoo-conditioner duo is available in five varieties to meet the needs of every hair type. From Classic Clean to Volumizing, PERT Plus gives fresh, manageable hair that smells great all in one simple step. All formulas are gentle enough for color-treated hair so there’s no worrying about ruining fresh highlights!
I love that I found two great new products that work great for me, but that also work great for both of my oldest daughters and there very different hair care needs…it’s a definite win-win!

I’ve mentioned before how brand loyal I am when it comes to certain products that I use, laundry detergent, tooth paste and even my choice of mascara is almost always brand specific, but my choice of shampoo is never tampered with.
I’ve been a loyal fan of a certain herbal shampoo and condition for several years, so trying to get me to try and then love a new hair care duo was very unlikely. As with most things in my life, I had found something that I loved in a shampoo and conditioner so to me, there was no real reason to look further—that’s definitely not the way it works (in shampoo or in life). Natura
Now I know you’re thinking, oh great, not another overly praising, fake, “I loved it!” post—I totally get that, heck, if I weren’t the one writing it I would probably think it too, but this happens to be a case where I tried a product fully expecting to not be impressed with its performance and then completely fell in love with said product—yes, seriously, I found a new shampoo for life!
It had been years, and I do mean literally years…(I was probably 18—my mom bought Aussie religiously and to my knowledge still does) since I had tried an Aussie product and while I remember not hating it back then, I can’t honestly remember loving it either. For the sake of this review I decided to give the Aussie shampoo and conditioner a try, but first I had to find my Aussie Perfect Match! Since I hadn’t tried Aussie products in so long, I needed a little help deciding which Aussie shampoo and conditioner were right for me, Aussie celebrity stylist Sarah Potempa’s guide to helping choose the right hair care duo was a huge help.
After looking over my hair care needs, I settled on Confidently Clean and You Can Shine as my Aussie Perfect Match. When my Aussie products arrived I was actually excited to give them a try and see how they compared to my favorite brand. My goal for this review was one week, but honestly, I noticed a huge difference in not only the texture and manageability of my hair, but also in how amazingly shiny and healthy my hair looked—I didn’t need a week, I was convinced after the first wash!
If someone had told me prior to this review that I would actually ditch my old shampoo and conditioner for the Aussie products I probably would have laughed, but I can’t change the fact that exactly that happened…I’m pretty sure that I’m now an Aussie lover for life…I’m definitely impressed!
Make sure you check out Aussie on Facebook for the latest on hair care with no worries!
Are you an Aussie fan? If so, what’s your Aussie Perfect Match?

I know it’s been a few days since I’ve done a post for our Back to School Blowout, you can blame that on the complete lack of focus I’ve had lately due to the fact that my Lil Man started kindergarten last week, but I promise that I have a couple more goodies coming your way!
One item that’s always on my kiddos school list is scissors, but not any old scissor will do, oh no, because every parent and teacher knows that there’s only one brand to turn to with your scissor needs…Fiskars. Since my oldest daughter was in preschool Fiskars has been on her school supply list and it takes using them just once to understand why they are the #1 teacher recommended brand. So naturally when I decided to do another Back-to-School Blowout, Fiskars was an obvious choice and when they said, sure, let’s do a review, well, that made it even better!
We received several products from Fiskars to review, which is pretty cool, but Fiskars also sent us several of each product…why the extra product you ask? Well, Fiskars decided to donate them to the middle school that my oldest daughters attend. I don’t know about you, but that’s a pretty awesome thing to do if you ask me. Alright now, back to my review; as I mentioned above, Fiskars sent me several of their best selling school products to review including Fiskars Compass and Protractor Set, Fiskars Mess-Less Pencil Sharpener, Fiskars Designer Non-Stick Pointed-Tip Student Scissors (7"), Fiskars Designer Non-stick Pointed-tip Kids Scissors (5"), and Fiskars Softgrip Ruler and it didn’t take long at all before the kiddos were putting them to use.
My girls loved the trendy designs of the Designer Non-stick scissors—as a matter of fact, they couldn’t wait to take them to school to show them off to their friends. Prior to this review, Lil Man had a pair of regular red Fiskars scissors for school, but as soon as he saw the Camo on the Fiskars Designer Non-stick Kids scissors, it was a wrap…he had to have them. I was pretty confident in the fact that the kiddos would love the Fiskars products they tried out and the fact that I’m kind of in love with a pair of the Designer non-stick Student Scissors…hey, I’m a student you know.
I think it’s important to mention here that Fiskars is the Worlds #1 Scissor brand for a reason, the attention to detail, combined with their commitment to safety and quality is what sets Fiskars apart from the rest. I appreciate the fact that Fiskars tailors their classroom tools to meet the needs of various age groups, while still maintaining the quality and safety that I’ve always associated with the brand. I do have to say though, and I’m a little embarrassed by this, I didn’t actually know that Fiskars also offers other classroom products like rulers, pencil sharpeners and more…that’s one of the things that I love most about being a review blogger, the ability to learn something new about a brand I already love.
I’ve been a loyal Fiskars company for 10+ years for a reason, when it comes to scissors, they’re the best! If you haven’t tried a pair of Fiskars, well, you just haven’t lived…so what are you waiting for? Run out and grab a pair for your kiddo (or for you) and check them out for yourself!
