Today is a very exciting, scary and completely bittersweet day around here—today, I officially become to mother of a teenager! In honor of my precious Taylor’s thirteen years on this earth I thought I’d write her a letter!
My Dearest Taylor,
Thirteen years ago today I became a mom for the first time; it was the scariest, most exciting, happiest time in my entire life. I remember holding you in my arms for the first time and thinking that the whole world could cease to exist and as long as I had my sweet baby girl in my arms everything would be alright!
Being a young mom meant that I knew absolutely nothing about taking care of a baby, thank God I had Mamaw to help me along the way! For the first year I was an absolute mess; I had no idea how to make bottles, or how to give you a bath, or anything else really, but I figured it out and eventually got the hang of being your mommy!
You were the sweetest, happiest, most gorgeous baby I had ever seen. I remember how complete strangers would stop and talk to you every time we went anywhere and I also remember you loving the attention and getting a lil annoyed when you weren’t getting enough!
It has been a long, rocky thirteen years and even though the teen years are just now beginning, I’m pretty sure we can weather any storm together—we’ve been through thick and thin and have managed to make it through without too many scars!
I hope you know that I love you with everything in me; even when I’m mean, even when I’m yelling at you for not cleaning your room, even when you hate me—I love you—I love you and always will! There is nothing that you could ever do to make me stop loving you…you kinda have to put up with old Mom forever!
I want you to know that I am so proud of the young lady you are becoming; you are kind, helpful, compassionate, smart, beautiful and super talented and I hope that you know that you can do anything in this world if you put your mind to it—I want you to dream big and chase those dreams until they come true!
I hope your birthday is everything you ever wanted and more…no matter how terrifying the thought of raising a teenager, I couldn’t be happier to be going through it with anyone but you!
I love you to the moon and back, forever and always (pinky promise)!
Love
Mommy

It's day 3 of our "Fun in the Sun" Summer Bash. I hope you've had a chance to check out day 1 and day 2 and also my girl Alexis' giveaways!Today's giveaway is for the tweens and teens! My oldest daughter is closer than I'm comfortable with to becoming a teenager and the number one issue we seem to get into the most arguments about is her personal hygiene. It's not that she doesn't want to take a shower or any of that, it's that she doesn't always wash her hair as well as I would like which usually means greasy, dirty looking hair that doesn't smell too nice! The most frustrating part is that there are no hair care products for tweens in my local store which means she is using my shampoo or baby shampoo and neither are designed for her specific hair care needs.
About a month ago I found out about Totally Texty shampoo and conditioner which is made specially for teens and tweens. When I had the opportunity to review both the girls and boys version
s of Totally Texty I was very excited since I have 2 smelly haired tweens running around my house this summer! First let me give you the 411 (I had to do that) on Totally Texty! Totally Texty is a haircare product line that was developed specifically with teens and tweens in mind. Totally Texty is paraben free, sodium laurel/laureth sulfate free, DEA/TEA free, and Kathon CG free which makes the decision to use it on your children so much easier! Totally Texty is also super concentrated so a little bit goes a long way! The most unique thing about Totally Texty is the fact that it's geared to the way teens and tweens communicate the bottles are also shaped to look like cell phones which make the products so cute! The Totally Texty shampoos and conditioners are named using texting terms like "YTMN" (you're the man now for boys) and "DDG" (drop dead gorgeous for girls) which I think is absolutely genius! We received both the YTMN shampoo and the DDG shampoo and conditioner to review. Of course my daughter got very excited when she saw the shampoo and conditioner (yes she got excited about shampoo) because she knew that it was something made just for her! I have to admit that I was skeptical about how well the shampoo and conditioner would actually work but as soon as she finished blow drying her hair after her shower I knew that my reservations were unfounded...Totally Texty worked great! Taylor's hair was soft and manageable and not at all greasy looking, which I was absolutely thrilled about! And while the YTMN shampoo is for my step-son I use it on Gaige (who is almost 2) every night he comes out with great smelling hair that is soft and looks great! My favorite thing about Totally Texty is the fact that it makes the kids hair smell great!
Buy it!!! You can purchase all of the Totally Texty Products online at TotallyTexty.com.
Now with summer in full swing and smelly hair in it's prime how would you like to try out some of the Totally Texty products? The amazing ladies at Totally Texty are giving one of my readers their choice of either the YTMN (boys shampoo) or the DDG (girls shampoo and conditioner)! Can you say heck yeah!
