I've mentioned many, many times how much my Lil Man loves Marvel and all of the Avengers (seriously y'all, he thinks he's Thor...like, all day, every day) so I thought I'd share the new  TV  spot “Return of an Avenger” for Marvel's THOR: THE DARK WORLD.  By the way, this spot premiered on Tuesday night during the TV premiere of MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. which very quickly drew all of us in and has us counting the minutes until next week....can't wait!

Anyway, here's the new spot for THOR:  THE DARK WORLD...enjoy!

One of my favorite cousins is getting married today and I couldn’t be happier to not only be there to see her walk down the isle, but also to  see so many family and friends that I haven’t seen in a while—I honestly can’t wait!  So, in honor of my cousin’s wedding I thought I’d share a new film appropriately titled The Wedding Chapel with all of you and even offer one of you a copy of your own—sound good?  Alright let’s go!

About The Wedding Chapel…

Uninspired and newly single painter Sara is down on her luck and wants nothing more than to get away from her problems. When she decides to take a trip to visit her mom, she becomes involved in a mission to save a local church which is in danger of being closed down. Determined to help preserve the historic building, Sara embarks on a mission that not only gives her a new outlook on life, but enables her mother to rekindle a long lost love from her past. Starring Emmanuelle Vaugier, Mark Deklin and Shelley Long, The Wedding Chapel is a story about love, forgiveness and embracing new beginnings.

I love love stories, who doesn’t… right?  I’ve been a fan of Shelley Long for as long as I can remember, (anyone remember Camp Beverly Hills?) and I love that her character in the movie falls in love with a long lost flame.  It’s a perfectly inspirational love story that romantics and non-romantics alike can appreciate.

Celebrate love, life, and family with The Wedding Chapel, available on DVD nationwide.

WIN IT!

One lucky MIBR reader is going to win a copy of The Wedding Chapel on DVD…for official rules and to enter check out the Rafflecopter widget below.

My son is quite possibly the biggest Thor fan of all time—seriously, he spends 90% of his days fighting Loki and defending Asgard—true story.  So I couldn’t not post the new poster for MARVEL’S THOR: THE DARK WORLD, it would have just been wrong and mean and well as soon as Lil Man saw it in my email he almost lost his mind and then spent the rest of the day being Thor (I was told he wasn’t actually pretending, that he was, in fact, Thor) so here Lil Man, this one’s for you.

Marvel’s "Thor: The Dark World" continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.  In the aftermath of Marvel’s "Thor" and "Marvel’s The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, p.g.a., from a story by Don Payne and Robert Rodat and screenplay by Christopher L. Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery “ #83 in August, 1962.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been excited about a new movie, I’m talking long time (think 90’s and Clueless), but that excitement is coming back in a big way with Disney’s, “Saving Mr. Banks”, that hits theaters in December.  “Saving Mr. Banks” is inspired by true events and is the is the extraordinary, untold story of how Disney’s classic “Mary Poppins” made it to the screen.  One of my favorite movies of all-time is “Mary Poppins”, so I truly cannot wait to see this movie and hear all about the backstory!

Here’s a little more about the movie that stars Tom Hanks as the iconic Walt Disney (“Saving Mr. Banks” is actually the first time in cinematic history that man behind the Disney empire has ever been depicted in a film) and the lovely Academy Award winner Emma Thompson and a peak at the new poster for the movie, which by the way, is arguably my absolute favorite movie poster ever—it’s genius!

Two-time Academy Award®–winner Emma Thompson and fellow double Oscar®-winner Tom Hanks topline Disney’s “Saving Mr. Banks,” inspired by the extraordinary, untold backstory of how Disney’s classic “Mary Poppins” made it to the screen.
When Walt Disney’s daughters begged him to make a movie of their favorite book, P.L. Travers’ “Mary Poppins,” he made them a promise—one that he didn’t realize would take 20 years to keep. In his quest to obtain the rights, Walt comes up against a curmudgeonly, uncompromising writer who has absolutely no intention of letting her beloved magical nanny get mauled by the Hollywood machine. But, as the books stop selling and money grows short, Travers reluctantly agrees to go to Los Angeles to hear Disney’s plans for the adaptation.
For those two short weeks in 1961, Walt Disney pulls out all the stops. Armed with imaginative storyboards and chirpy songs from the talented Sherman brothers, Walt launches an all-out onslaught on P.L. Travers, but the prickly author doesn’t budge. He soon begins to watch helplessly as Travers becomes increasingly immovable and the rights begin to move further away from his grasp.
It is only when he reaches into his own childhood that Walt discovers the truth about the ghosts that haunt her, and together they set Mary Poppins free to ultimately make one of the most endearing films in cinematic history.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see “Saving Mr. Banks” and don’t forget, SAVING MR. BANKS opens in theaters limited on December 13, 2013 and opens nationwide on December 20, 2013!  You can also Like Saving Mr. Banks on Facebook and Follow @disneypictures on Twitter for the latest!

This past weekend I fell in love! I know you’re wondering what happened to my fiancé… well nothing happened to him, as a matter of fact he was sitting beside me on the couch when it happened. Now I know that you are thoroughly confused right about now so let me explain!

Last Friday I watched Twilight for the first time... apparently I have been living under a rock! Now I will be the first to admit that I was a little annoyed by all of the Twilight blog posts and the whole Team Edward/Team Jacob thing before I watched the movie, but after I watched the movie I so got it! Not since I was eight years old watching Gone With The Wind (and falling in love with Rhet Butler) have I sat glued to the screen waiting for a guy to kiss a girl. It was like I was under some spell cast by Edward Cullen because I could not move, think (of anything but how much I would love to be bitten by a certain vampire), or even breathe for fear I would miss something! So now as you've probably guessed I am a little obsessed with the whole Twilight thing, and more specifically Robert Pattinson, and if by some freak accident he were to happen upon this little post (I know ,I know but a girl can dream) this is a formal invitation for Mr. Pattinson to come into my room in the middle of the night and bite me…several times! What? I’m just sayin’ I wouldn’t mind it (at all)! edward_cullen_twilight

Alright, alright yes I do remember that this is a mom blog but just look at him (and don’t drool on my sidebar) what’s not to love! So I already bought the movie, and I would have bought the books but the only reading I’ve done lately is the dosage on the Tylenol bottle, so now I’m just sitting here patiently waiting for New Moon! new_moon_poster_edward

So I have to know are y’all as obsessed as I am? Have you seen the movie? Do you love the movie (or maybe you just love my future husband Robert Pattinson)? Either way I wanna know!

As my son gets older I notice his need for educational stimulation more and more when it comes to the movies and television shows that he watches. If he's watching a television show and there's no music or interaction then nine times out of ten he'll walk away to find something more interesting to do! There are a number of brands that are go-to brands for me when it comes to incorporating fun and education but the one brand that never fails to fulfill both needs is LeapFrog. So when I was asked to review one of the LeapFrog DVDs I jumped at the chance!

Starting May 12 Lionsgate is teaming up with Leapfrog to release two of their best selling titles, LeapFrog Letter Factory and LeapFrog Talking Words Factory. The LeapFrog brand is known for producing high quality, entertaining, and educational products for children and these DVD's combine music and stories to help children become excited about learning to read. Both titles are available today and retail for $14.98 each.

We were able to review the LeapFrog Letter Factory which teaches letters, phonics, and listening skills. The popular Leap, Lily, and Tad (we love Tad at our house) have a crazy adventure in the Letter Factory and its non stop energy from beginning to end! I was amazed at how quickly Gaige picked up on the songs and started saying the letters. Of course I was very pleased that everything was set to music because Gaige won't usually pay attention to a television show or movie unless there is music and singing. Overall we were very pleased with the LeapFrog Letter Factory my son laughed, sang, danced, and best of all learned several letters of the alphabet that I have been having a difficult time teaching him. So if you're looking for a great DVD that's both fun and educational I would absolutely suggest this title!
