It’s Day 8 of Misadventures in Baby Raising’s Fun in the Sun blog party…I hope you’ve all had a chance to check out all of the awesome products and giveaways thus far. If not you can access them easily on my sidebar under current giveaways…there are some pretty great ones if I do say so myself.
My number one concern when the weather starts getting warmer is my tan (or lack there of). I have to admit I’m a frequent tanning salon customer, but as I get older I notice the affects of that “quick fix” and they are not good. As hard as it is to admit I know traditional tanning salons and tanning beds are not the way to go. I received the Mystic Tan Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer to review. Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer is specially formulated with Mystic Tan’s essential vitamin blend and an anti-aging complex, as well as a full-spectrum Micronized Zinc SPF 15 sunscreen.
What I liked about Mystic Tan Glow Daily Moisturizer: I really love the healthy glow that the moisturizer gave me. I also love that the moisturizer has a sunscreen in it, one less step in my morning routine!
What I Think Needs Improvement: While my skin did have a glow from the moisturizer, I didn’t notice a difference in the color of my skin i.e. no tan even after applying it several times. I also experienced a problem with breakouts after using the moisturizer for a couple of days, which is unusual for my skin.

Since this is the Fun in the Sun blog party I chose an item to review that I thought would be fun for the kids and easy for the adults! CSNStores.com sent me the Kid’s Adventure Le Cafe Play Tent for my review. I chose this item because I though it was adorable, fun, and affordable (at only $39.99). Some of the features of the Le Cafe Play Tent include a front swinging door, shock-corded PVC poles, a striped awing and polyester cover.

When the tent arrived I was very excited to get it set up so that the kids could tell me what they thought about it. The assembly was a little more than I could do by myself (it actually took my husband, myself, and my oldest daughter’s to set it up). The instructions were clear and easy to understand but the structure itself did not want to cooperate. The poles used to construct the tent were simple enough to put together, but were not very sturdy, we had an issue several times getting the poles to stay up long enough to put the roof on the tent. Once we had the roof in place the structure was a little more sturdy, but it still took all of us holding it to get the cover over it without it collapsing. Once the cover was on the structure and all of the Velcro snaps were together (another PITA) the tent was actually very cute. The hardest thing we had to deal with was the sturdiness of the tent, it was a little windy the day we set it up and several times the tent was lifted into the air…the problem was solved (temporarily) by placing rocks on the inside flaps. Eventually we moved the tent onto our front porch where the wind would not be an issue—if you plan on buying this tent and have a playroom inside I would highly recommend placing it in there. Once the tent was safely out of the wind the kids got to go inside and play and I have to say that they really enjoy the tent. It’s very roomy (it holds up to 8 children) and the awning and roll out brick porch made the tent just absolutely charming. 
What I like about it: I love that my kids like the tent…at the end of the day that’s all that really matters. I also like the price…very affordable summer fun. One big draw is how roomy it is…both of my oldest daughters, my son, youngest daughter, and one of their cousins fit in it very comfortably.
What I think needs improvement: I think one big drawback of this tent is how flimsy it is, maybe adding stronger poles would make the structure more sturdy. I also dislike how it is not very outdoor friendly, one of the biggest reasons I chose the tent was because I wanted them to have a place to play outside and this tent is just not made to be used as an outdoor tent (unless it is placed on a covered porch or deck). The Velcro closures also need work as they do not want to stay in place, making the structure itself hard to stay together.Buy it: You can find the Le Cafe Play Tent from Kid’s Adventure at CSNStores.com.

My kids had a blast with this one! While it was a bit messy, they loved getting creative and mixing different colors. Honestly I think they had as much fun making the chalk as they did drawing with it.

Crayola Spira-Chalk Blaster: Kind of like spin art, but with chalk. The Spira-Chalk Blaster is a kid powered chalk tool that lets children create large, spiral masterpieces that are truly unique each time.
My kiddos LOVED this one as well. Unfortunately my camera decided to malfunction and I lost all of the pictures I took of this item, but I assure you they loved it! The babies had a blast chasing the blaster around the sidewalk and my oldest girls spent hours trying to see how many different designs they could come up with.

Welcome everyone to Day 1 of Misadventures in Baby Raising’s Fun in the Sun blog party! We have lots of partying to do and lots of great product reviews and awesome giveaways so make yourself at home and don’t forget to tell all of your friends to come by and check out the FITS blog party!
I love to shop! I’m sure that comes as no surprise and I’m positive that I’m not the only one! One of my favorite places to shop is Macy’s (I’m sure I’m not alone in that either). Besides having a huge selection of the latest and greatest styles, Macy’s is just a fun place to spend hours pouring over the racks and shopping till your heart’s content. Of course, Macy’s is always trying (and succeeding) to make their customer’s happy by bringing them only the best in fashion and Macy’s IMPULSE Spring 2010 Collection is proof of that.
Macy’s IMPULSE department is THE place for fashion savvy ladies (like ourselves) to find the latest trends from our favorite Contemporary brands. Macy’s IMPULSE Spring 2010 Hot List features items from over 250 of the most sought after brands like 7 for All Mankind (a big favorite of mine), BCBG, Free People, Splendid, and so many more. Some of the biggest trends for Spring 2010 are weaved together by incorporating bursts of color from neon pinks and bright yellow, turquoise, and fuchsia…love it! The Global Nomad trend is also popular and fuses together ethnic inspired prints from around the world, batik prints, tie-dye, and even animal prints. The cargo pant is also one of the Hot List items this spring and it mixes perfectly with the more outrageous embellished tops and wild prints.
Of course I couldn’t write a post about shopping without showing you some of my favorites from the Spring 2010 Hot List!
