She originally wanted a plain strawberry cake, but me being the insane mother I am decided that would not do...instead I got the idea to make a three layer Neapolitan cake (you know like the ice cream). I had no idea when I started what I was getting myself into!
It all started out fine I mixed the first layer, put it in the oven, and started on the second layer...it all went downhill from there. Cakes stuck, I couldn't cut straight to save my life, and by the time all was said and done 5 hours had went by, but the cake was amazing and a huge hit!
Now for some pictures, because in true blogger fashion I can not seem to do anything anymore without grabbing my camera because I just have to blog about it.

The first layer of strawberry cake. I cut up some fresh strawberries put them in a sauce pan, added some sugar and a little water, and reduced it and made homemade strawberry preserves and then placed it between the layers...it added amazing flavor and made the cake so moist!
